My Holiday Review

Postby Jula » 08 Sep 2007 21:28

Just returned from 2 glorious weeks in the lovely Icmeler and loved every minute of it.

4hr 8 min flight and there we were in the heat of Turkey, 2 1/2 hours later, last to be dropped off we arrived at our hotel.

Spent a day down the beach, that was nice but i swear they fish nip you lol Also spent a day at the Blue Rainbow Hotel's pool it was really nice. it was next door to where we stayed and we nipped round when our pool was full.

Visited lots of places whilst there but probably only made a dent in all the places there is to try.

Had nice meals in Dream Boys, Jimmy Okimos, Four Seasons,Kontes,Love Boat,3(4)Bells, Dream Boys International,Marios,Harmony,(the Stella Show was fab) to name a few

Also visited Fess Bar,Bamboo,Amalia,EastendersYakamoz,Mary's Potato,Timeless Bar,Deniz Kapisi,Romeo&Juliet,Simpsons Bar.

My favourite place, one which i was in at some point everday was the Havana Bar, Za Za is a top bloke and a big up to the guys who worked there too,Leon,Ferhat,Ozzy and the gang the banter was class and they made our holiday.

Took the water taxi over to Marmaris, that was lovely, cost 7.5ytl, stayed the night in the Armutulan area and got the Dolmus back to Marmaris next day, cost 1 lira then the taxi back to Icmeler.

The weather was glorious but there were a few days we struggled with the heat and some nights it didn't feel much cooler at all.

Popped into ICR office to see if the A/I boat trip was on,but it wasn't so we booked a trip with another company

The rate was between 2.50 - 2.6 over there used the supermarket under ICR to change money and also the Galeria Supermarket which was just over the road from the hotel.

The prices were not bad,but i think it's not as cheap nowadays, most of the bars we were in were charging the same price for a large soft drink as they were for a vodka! Cheapest bottle of Efes in a bar was 1.75ytl and for the life of me i can't remember the name of the place!

Didn't find the hassle too bad really, except for the hairdressers along from Hotel, the guy drove me nuts every time i walked by.

Anyway i could go on and on all night talking about it lol best not though as this post is a bit long already!

To every0ne going soon,i'm sooooo jealous, have a fab time!

Oh one minus point...yes there is one. THAT CD that all the bars played everynight,if i hear the Cha Cha slide again i will scream

Lovely review!
I have to admit that since my return the "cha cha slide" has been the theme tune to my nightmares!

To avoid being nipped you need to keep moving, stand still and they come and investigate you

A smashing report Julia.
You got around quite a bit and visited some great restaurents.
Isnt it funny the fishermen never seem to get a bite but we all do when paddling.

Just for you Julia

Great report Julia

I've been home a week and a bit now and just want to jump on a plane back there.

Luckily I don't think I heard the Cha Cha slide song the whole of the fortnight I was there :D

The hairdressers do slightly drive you mad don't they... I lost count of how many times I was asked if I wanted a wash and blow dry - on my way to the beach nearly every morning... yeah, just when you need your hair to be looking at its best eh!!!
