Winter in Icmeler

Postby polkadot » 28 Aug 2007 16:30

I have just returned from another grear holiday in Icmeler after missing it last year.
I heard whilst out there that, unlike before, there are flights into Dalaman during the close season months.
If this is the case can anyone give advice on the airlines who do visit and whether Icmeler has places to stay in winter.

Oh and i just discoverd this site and the very excellent web cam pictures you provide.
Hello to you all!!!!!! :D

I stayed there for two weeks in December with a friend. Dont know how easy it will be to get accomodation in Icmeler and like Bec said theres very few place open, most of the shops are closed, no market and no shops open at the canal. However theres much more open in Marmaris, the bazaar is open theres plenty open around the harbour and bar street. Also depending on when you thinking of going the weather isnt great. The winter months see a lot of wind and rain. Ive also been in March and the weather is better. It tends to be sunnier but the temps arent that hot that you'd be out sunbathing. I suppose it really depends on what kind of holiday you looking for. Hope this info is of some help!

claire2007, everytime I got to Icmeler, I go in October and it's great at that time of year. Still really hot, everywhere still open, and quite a lot of people milling about. Definetly a good time to go.

Winter in Icmeler

So glad I read this post. Four of us hope to travel out on 8th October for one week and I was a bit apprehensive that things might be closing down. (Couldn't get any earlier because of work commitments). Feel reassured by Laura180306's comment that it's still hot in October. We first visited Icmeler in May of this year and really fell in love with the place. Can't wait to get back.

Thanks for your replies - especially about bargains in the shops coming to the end of the season. My son will be over the moon as he's been saving hard to buy clothes out there. Cheers everyone.
