How Do You Spend Your Day In Icmeler

Postby fatblokecaver » 30 Jul 2007 18:56

We have brekkie Turkish style - fresh bread, eggs, toast (I can do amazing things with a metal coat hanger) honey, salami, olives, tomatoes cheesie triangles and buckets of coffee.

Veg by the pool let the kids wear themselves out, lunch is chunkie chips from the bar or a burger or a HUGE tuna mayo sarnie + home grown chilli with an efes or two.
Or hit beach for bronzing (have to watch out for greenpeace trying to drag me back into the sea  ) snorkelling and just relaxing. Chicken kebab on the way back to the apartment via the Bamboo/Magic Garden for an efes or two.
Now the hard bit, get the kids to crash out from about 4 - 7, up shower and head for any descent eating hole. Eat drink and be merry home to the apartment for a night cap G & T or what ever.
Bed

Add to this a few boat trips and at least 1 days scuba plus shopping etc this is our holiday.

Come on you Icmeler'ites how do you do yours

FBC 7 sleeps to go until paradise arrives

Wake up normally around 7am. Get dressed & then head down to the bar for breakfast. Sometimes a fry up & coffee or toast & jam with orange juice. Back to the apartment to plan the day (if we havent any excursions booked). Normally go down to the pool for a few hours sunbathing, then by lunchtime we go down to the shop for a loaf of fresh bread & some lovely cheese to make sandwiches, with a nice cold Efes!! Have a wander down the lovely streets & lanes of Icmeler for some retail therapy. Back to the apartment for a little siesta. Shower then out for dinner & plenty of drinkys at night! Then back to the apartment for a last wee drink before bed! All ready to start again the next day! :D

I'm an early riser too - cup of tetley tea and ciggie on the balcony, shower etc. pop to the shop for fresh bread - more tea, bread and cheese (mmm) or go out for turkish breakfast. Lazy days - by the pool then a walk into old village. Back for nap, shower and out for dinner, drink and dancing. Not so lazy days - roam around shops, good long walk around resort shopping, stopping to say hello to people, lunch, too many ice creams. busy days - up and out by 9.30 on a trip or on dolmus/water taxi to Turunc, marmaris or Fethiye. Usually have nap when I get back in before night out.
If you don't find a gym, the walks around resort, along beach front and into old village will give you exercise.

Hi Subzi,

This is Slats, reading your post got me thinking. Your 2 week holiday in Icmeler is really 1 week in the sunshine as you get up with only 4 hours, before it's dark. So I am hear to help you with a tip. Maybe next year, book a 4 week holiday and like all of us you could have 2 weeks in the sun.

Get up nice and early sometimes have a stroll before Mrs and daughter awake, either down to the beach for 10 ish or by the pool do loads of reading and chilling, if not going on any trips. If by the beach lunch as CoCo beach, return to apartment 4 ish, have a cold drink (no beer in the day) perhaps some melon and fruit, have a kip, all get ready out for 8ish sounds boring to some I know but we like it, and after two weeks I am very relaxed and chilled

Mum get sup early has her cuppa and cigarette and read at her book, till I get up about 9.30ish get ready have breakfast about 10ish, only tend to go to the beach once or twice, so normally once had breakfast get stuff and head to the pool relax, read a little, quick dip to cool down, then about 1ish have a long lunch, then back to the pool for some more sun worshipping. Or if its market day after breakfast normally head up there for a wander, and back to either the pool or beach in the afternoon. Or we up and out earlier if going on a trip. Upstairs about 4/5 and either nap or read of me book, get ready and out about 8ish, and then food and drink and maybe a little more drink :D

Oh just typing this makes me want to be there!

My husband usually gets up about 7-8am, and I relax until about 9am.
Usually have shower and put our swimming costumes on and decide whether to go down to the beach or stay by the pool.

We have a light breakfast, boiled eggs and fresh bread from the bakery mmmmm which my husband goes for first thing.

Unless we are going on a boat trip we catch a few rays and read, swim and relax on beach/ in pool.
Some mornings we walk into the old village and give sunbathing a miss so that we can go and chat with Umbashir in Miami bar and just watch village life. Sometimes we eat lunch there.

We then go back to appts and have a sleep until about 6.30pm when we have another shower ,get ready to go out arriving back in the appts about 2am approx.
oooooooo I can't wait!!!

I tend To Spent My Days The Same As Everyone else

get up around half 7 then have breakfast sat around pool or beach at 8.30 at the latest then soak up the sunrays till around 12 if not suffering from heat and have a soak in the pool. then from 12 have lunch. then back to hit the sun beds again then at around half 3 have a walk along the beach to the big pier and sit there for some lovely breezy heat then back to the hotel around half 4/5 for a sleep like the rest of yous  then shower around 6ish and out for a meal around 7 half 7 then roll on 10 oclock for the dancing && getting a few drinks down us then roll back to the room what ever time

We must be the only people in Turkey that don't have a sleep in the afternoon or early evening. We are very early risers usually 6:30 - 7:00, shower, dreeed down for breakfast either hotel or we catch something a bit later. If we are not going on a trip we normally walk around shops, markets have a bite to eat around 1:00 more walking and sightseeing, back to the hotel. Another shower change then out for the night, a nice meal and lots of drinkies then back to the hotel about 11:00 and either have one drink in the bar or up to bed for a well earned sleep. When we go away we like to see as much as we can so sitting by pools and on beaches is not for us, except on rare occasions we will spend an hour or two sunbathing and reading.

I usually rise bout 8.30 ish and wander round my room bumping into things while i wake up and look for my specs  Then shower and wander down to brekkie.

Then decide what to do for the day, long lazy lunch around 1ish then like to laze or wander round in the afternoon till around 4.30 ish, then back to the room for a cup of tea and a snooze.

Then go out round 8ish for a nice meal and some drinks till any time after 11pm by which time I am almost asleep

Sounds boring but I love it :D
