I usually change £ 100 in the UK to cover me for the first day or so , and change the rest over there . The rate is usually much better in icmeler than here .

Hi Milly

If you were using your Visa to get cash you would use the cashline machines.

Rate is usually much better in Icmeler, especially the supermarket next to the Chill Bar. We always take a little home so we have some for journey back. The supermarket is open 'all hours' so no need to change too much here. By the way I got English money from the cash machine with my Visa Debit and there was no charge from by bank. Hope this is of some help.

hi millymuffin,

if it's actual english money you have to change, just take it into any shop, or anywhere you would normally cash travellers cheques and they will change it into lira for you no problem. no need for passports or any form of identity.

Hi, we find they are so amazingly helpful and clever in Icmeler that we mostly use sterling anyway!I am astonished that they can work it all out and give you change in whatever you want..if they're a big enough place, otherwise its in YTL.Get dirty looks here if you pay for 30p item with a fiver!
