just back from captain silver apartments

Postby jackonews » 11 Jul 2007 18:41

just got back on monday night from a superb 2 week at the captain silver apartments in icmeler.Flights were on time both ways and we left on the monday morning of the floods and arrived to the hottest period i have know in turkey.
We had to wait for our bags for 1 hour 20 minutes but our icmeler online transfer was still waiting for us,although some other people were not very happy having got there bags quickly.
the journey down was prompt and we were quickly installed in our rooms ,unpacked and walking out by 5.45pm for a quick look round at any changes ,after dropping in at ICR offices we went to THE OLD FAMOUS where Haken looked after us for our first drink of the hols.
Meals at Venice,Love Boat Lighthouse started us off the first few nights and a visit to Taj Mahal, Linekers and Wonderboys, but most nights we called at the old famous, had a good chat one night with Tracy from ICR.
Had an enjoyable boat trip with Hakan and Tango from Old Famous one day,but most of the time it was chill by the pool in the wonderful gardens at the Captain Silver.Must not forget to mention Jules at the Old Famous ,what a great laugh allways on the move and keeping us entertained.
This year they have a new bar restraunt set up with a couple running it,but a super chap called MEHMET runs the day to day serving and late night operation and as well as been a very nice person he is trying like mad to make a go of it.
The gardens are a dream the setting is superb and the goats, and tortoise in close proximity give you and interest during the day without getting off your bed.
We think the shops are now suffering with clothes sales due to the cost of stuff at PRI-MARNI and other discount outlets in England. There seemed very little business been done ,but it could have been the temperatues 50 degrees plus for four days.
We thoght it was very quiet compared with the last two years in june ,although it did get a bit busier later on.
All in all another superb holiday in our paradise and hope to get back in september.

Great report,
I was like Colette living every word.
The Captain Silver are a great set of apartments only a few minutes from the beach and town.
I think that raised bar area is fantastic and good look to the guy running it.

colette
the captain silver apts are a five minute walk to the square/ICR office and 5 minutes to the beach front by the dezil kapazi, turn down the road opposite two sisters and side of mersoy hotel its set back right against the hillside, very quite location, except during the day when at certain times the idiot running the music at the mersoy turns it up full blast for about 3 minute intervals. But now with the 12 o clock close down on music you will not hear a peep up there, its ideal.
Just some other thoughts that come to mind.
HASSLE close downs at a number of bars especially the barons just a few days after the Anotollia opposite and the Titanic was due to close on Wednesday for 3 days.
We did feel once again that the twelve o clock music shut down is an hour to early.on the long sunny days the nice part of the day is 5 to 7 pm in the cooler sun,and we love it hot and will sit in it from 8.30 till 6 ,but by the time you have showered walked out had your meal and a chat its usually 10.30 ,which by the time you have had a couple of drinks and got in the swing the dance music / karaoke was shutting down, and NO we are to old for pleasure or Eastenders.Having said all that we didnt seem to get to bed before 2 or 3 am most nights.
Another memory listerning to RADIO NOSTAJI 107.6 the music is back.
Any way that will do for tonight, but i just want to re-live every minute over again.
Now the wifes read my review i am in trouble for letting to many in on the secret of the capt silver, will not get in next time
