So we had to come home :-(

Postby andrea m » 28 May 2007 21:09

Well thats the first trip of the year over with and as usual I did not want to come home.

We stayed at the Demircioglu above Vince's bar and had a fantastic time, the apartments have everything you need for a self catering holiday. The rooms were of not a bad size, the towels were changed every day and the bedding every 3 days. We were on the second floor and the view was lovely to your right the old village (kinda) and the hills, and to your left the main street and in front of you more hills beautiful.

We went on the ICR day trip and have to say it is definately worth every penny, the breakfast at Halil is plenty to fill you up before the rest of the trip. At Akyaka we stayed on the beach (mainly because the 2nd week weather wasn't that great and the sun was shining here so took advantage of it). We got back about 5ish and had a fantastic time, somewhere else we have now seen and would do again.

We also done the jeep safari - although my mum did take a little persuading, and we both had a great day, got soaked and came home filthy but happy and would like to do again - but with darker clothes so the dirt doesn't show as easily

We were meant to do a boat trip but this was cancelled due the weather which just means we'll need to do it in Setpember.

We had breakfast most days at Vince's and had a few meals there too and the food was lovely. We also visited Pop In, Majestic Boys, Irish Bar, Florida, Babadan, Three 4 Bells, Noels, Richards Place and possibly a couple more and either ate or drank in each and enjoyed them all.

I think thats about it I could go on about how wonderful it was but hey we already know all that so I won't, so now its the countdown for 21st September just over 17wks to go!

I would also like to thank Icmeleronline staff for all their help in booking, and in resort. They do a fantastic job and will see you again in September for that private transfer!

To others who are about to head off have a fantastic time as I am sure you will.

Cassie - The card we got says Richards Place its on the same road as Champagne, Oscars etc. Unless they are using old cards :?:

Colette - we did have a great time, as we all do the weather was just cloudy the 2nd week and we were there during the gale force winds with everything flying everywhere just added to the holiday

So we had to come home

Postby mad-mags » 29 May 2007 13:33

We arrived home on Saturday morning after another enjoyable week in Icmeler. Now it is back to work. :(

Our flight out on the 18th was diverted to Bodrum because of the very high winds, which got worse throughout the day. On Saturday night we had the most horrendous winds, almost hurricane level, chairs were flying across the road, and the roof of the hotel next to our apartment ended up on the floor near the pool.

Although the weather was not good enough for sitting on the beach or near the pool for the first few days, we spent the time walking and meeting up with old friends, and taking in the changes that have taken place in Icmeler over the winter months. We even did the walk to Marmaris. I’ve got the blisters to prove it!!!!!

We had excellent meals in Love Boat (who have gone computerised), Champagne, Lighthouse and Bonjour Restaurants. Bonjour has been taken over this year by Charley and King Solomon, formerly of Lighthouse, the meal was excellent and I hope they have a good season.

We also spent time at Havana Bar, and had a great time with ZaZa and the rest of the boys there, also had a great welcome from Vince and his staff.

It is very quiet in the resort at the moment, but as it is early in the season it should pick up as the time goes along. Police have been clamping down on the ‘hassle’ with several bars being given warnings, one restaurant was closing on Saturday for three days because one of the boys was seen shaking the hand of a previous customer. This surprised us as the front man from Heat & Breeze was almost following us down the road to try and get us in the restaurant there!!!

We had no problems going through Dalaman airport, although several people were over the 20kg allowance and we being charged £6 per kilo.

I hope all of you going over the next few weeks have a fantastic time and enjoy yourselves as much as we did. Mags :D
