Water from Street Taps

I always buy lots of bottles of water when we stay in Icmeler. Been speaking to some friends and they say they fill their empty bottles up from the street taps and that this is clean spring water. I've always seen the locals using this water from the street taps, like the one on the corner next to The Wembley Bar. Is it ok to drink or will we get the trots?

The water that is piped in to the apartments and hotels is not recommended for drinking. The water that you buy in plastic bottles has been stored in some warehouse / compound somewhere often in direct sunlight for who knows how long. The water from the taps on the street comes from the mountains and the locals drink it. I drink both mountain water and bottled and I find both ok and haven't had a problem with either of them as of yet. The choice as they say is yours.

I always fill my bottles from the street taps when I'm out, it's perfectly fine but usually a bit on the warm side.
When I'm in my apartment I drink the tap water, never had any 'problems' but it's up to you if you want to risk it.
