Efes or Jonn Smiths

Postby paullittlefair » 05 Mar 2007 19:48

Efes or John Smiths smooth??? I personally enjoy the ice cold efes but my 3 gripper teenage lads prefer to drink John Smiths (can you believe that). To keep the boys happy does anybody know any bars in Icmeler that serve the afore mentoned tipple. Flying out June 30th for 2 weeks and really looking forward to my 2nd visit to paradise!!!!

Not seen John Smiths before in Icmeler, but then again not really looked for it, no need as Efes is soooo good.

My other/better half does not really drink, however for some obscure reason she loves Efes dark Its quite a strong beer as well and it is nice, especially cold but not as good in my opinion as Efes

as a man who has made an extensive study on this subject.the nearest anyone will get to john smiths in Turkey is efes dark.a cool yet subtle bitter beer.i personally prefer the lighter more tangy original efes. i make it my personal crusade to test as many barrels/bottles as is humanly possible in any weekly period.I try my best to do my bit for quality control .if any bar or restaurant meets the standards of efes perfection. it is your duty to post there name here as soon as you can.i can recommend coco beach for the expectation after a full day on the sand, and the three bells for a glass straight out of the fridge.we all have our favourites whats yours.

I think the pint I enjoy the most is the one at the Cafe Del Mar.
Its lunchtime and we have come off the beach for something to eat.
A pint pot from the fridge all covered in ice, full to the brim with the amber fluid.
Sat at a table with the most fantastic views over the bay to the islands opposite,
boats plying their trade between Marmaris,Icmeler and Turunc, children playing in the sea.

I put the glass to my lips,

The dream has come alive,
tranquility reigns once more and I am now in my little piece of heaven.

A nice drink to try is a black and tan, half an efes and half an efes dark in an iced glass, it does not lay as heavy on the stomach especially when your podged after dinner.

be wary of Efes dark, it is a lovely beer but is very potent, especially if you are not used to drinking. Add in the heat as well and it can go very quickly to your head. My missus doesnt really drink but after 2 bottles of Efes dark she was very merry

I do love a nice cold Efes! Much prefer the Turkish wine though. Do they still have Doluca over there?
