So sorry to hear about this and glad Phill's on the right side of things now.

Fingers crossed that your insurance co do the right thing, and sooner rather than later. There seems to be quite a lot of help and advice on the Holiday Truths forum for problems like this - just in case you find it all a bit daunting? May save you some time and get things moving quicker perhaps.
All the very best for the right outcome

I called them yesterday as the four weeks were up and I received a letter today to say they were still investigating it and that I should hear by Jan 8th. At least it wasn't a no :D

We had confirmation today that our complaint has been reviewed again and they have declined it again. The next stage is the financial ombudsman.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks fanny, I haven't actually received the letter yet, hopefully it will be here tomorrow and I can see their reasons that they have declined it. It was just a phone call yesterday. I will email you if there is anything I could need help with.

Hi Mary,I hope Phil is feeling OK now.
After reading what happened to you I phoned my insurance company and gave them all my medical history going back 20 years!
Its the smallest thing that they find to not pay out.
I hope you are successful getting your costs refunded.

Sorry to hear they are maintaining the repudiation, if I can help let me know. When the letter comes make sure it says its a final decision letter otherwise the Ombudsman can't investigate.

I would just like to thank you all for your help and support regarding the insurance claim. After receiving the letter from them yesterday we have decided not to go any further with our complaint as it seems the problem Phill had in Turkey was actually connected to the investigations that he was undergoing at home. They state that even if we had informed them about the investigations he was undergoing that he wouldnt have been covered anyway, so it is a no win situation whatever. Therefore I would just like to remind everyone to inform your insurance about everything on your medical history past and present.

We would like to thank everyone we got to know in icmeler over the years and we will miss you all. It will be at least three years to cover the bill before we can contemplate returning to our little piece of paradise.

Happy holidays to everyone returning again this year and I will look forwatd to reading all your reports and comments.

Kendine iyi bak.

Phill and Mary xx
