Price Matching

Postby JT » 03 Jan 2013 12:41

We are still doing the price match offer we started late last year and I can see that there are still lots of sneaky deals and offers that unscrupulous agents are still playing with

I have just tried to match an offer sent to me by a lady call Katherine for the Aqua hotel and on frst glance I knew it was a con

For the dates she asked me for our selling price for the accommodation only was only £250 less than her full package deal

I unfortunately cannot get dates and prices and airports out of my head s I am constantly adding up deals

I know I thought let me call them and see what happens and so I did call a UK number from a UK agents website and was connected to a call centre somewhere in India

Would you like flights sir, yes I said as it was advertised with flights and the dates and airport came in with a price tag of £1,804 and when he added it all up and asked me would I like luggage adde he came back with a price of £2,125

Wow I said my luggage came to £321, no sir he said

So I asked where the price increase came from and he said oh that is becuase the flight and hotel had gone up by that amount since the offer was put online.

I never bothered saying goodbye I just hung up

That offer is still there an hour after he told me it had gone up and I know it was never there in the first place as that would have made the flights less than £150 each with the luggage and they have never been that

If you think it is too good to be true then it may be

Call us lket us do the work and then we sre there for you in the resort when you arrive

Happy hunting

Yeah, all a bit worrying JT.

Luckily I booked with Jet2 for Grand Aquarium (you may remember you called me and we discussed it) and we got a 'free' child place for my 16 year old daughter - 2 weeks for £1,788.88 including flights, luggage and transfers. I know you warned me about the ATOL protection not being activated until we paid every single penny of the full price but as I will be paying the full amount in March I thought for the £180 deposit (£60 each) I thought I'd take the chance.

My only other moan is about flight times, I hope they stay the same as they are now as they are really good flight times compared to last years Thomas Cook package deal which saw us miss almost a full day due to the ridiculous flight times (night flights) never again (hopefully)

This year as it stands we depart from Leeds Bradford at 1:50pm and land in Dalaman at 8:10pm - I'll probably book a private transfer with yourselves so we should arrive at the hotel just in time for a few Efe's and a bite to eat.

Return flight leaves Dalaman at 9:10pm and we land in UK at 11:35pm

Last year or flight out was 9:40pm Tuesday arriving in Dalaman at 3:55am on Wednesday. By the time we got to the Hotel it was around 6:30 - 7:00am and we were all absolutely knackered...
Return flight was just as bad a very early morning flight - 2:50am on Sunday 5th Aug arriving in UK at 5:20am. We slept a bit on the plane but as you can see we lost (yet again) another full day

so finger crossed the flights this year stay as they are...
