Icmeler dogs home

16 Dec 2012 16:37

Hi,
Just read on another forum that if you are taking items out for charity you are allowed an extra 5kg free, which would be ideal for taking stuff for the dogs home, they said to contact TCHD Pre Travel [email protected]

The extra allowance is for registered charities and its 10kg not 5kg. It's at TC discretion if they allow the additional allowance for non registered charities, this needs to be requested in writing with full details of the charity and is subject to the flight load.

Info is from TC website

Guess there's no harm in asking - no matter what airline you're flying with, if you'd like to take stuff like that out. Worst case scenario is that they say no...

2 years ago I went to Tunisia on a Thomson holiday. At the last moment the flight was changed to a Thomas Cook one.
My friend who was going on a BA flight told me she had been given an extra 20KGs luggage for the Rouge Crossiant.
I though I would ask in the Thomson shop who phoned Thomas Cook airline if they would do the same.
I was gob smacked when they said yes.
The one condition was it had to be packed separately and Red Cross written on the labels.
Even when we got to check in we were slightly overweight but the check in staff allowed for this.
I will be travelling next year and will ask Thomas Cook or Thomson who also allow extra if I can have 20kgs for the Icmeler Animal Welfare. :)
