We to were looking forward to going next year as we haven't been for 2 years now due to son being at uni and helping him out and new grandchild arriving. I know that flights have gone up but but some of the prices are rediculous. I have now manged to get find them for around 750 for 2 of us from birmingham in July but think I may just hang on and see if they come down a bit more as time goes by. I feel sorry for companies such as ICR because booking a package is looking like becoming the prefered option (everyone is on a budget these days) even though I would rather line the pockets of the local economy. :(

Peli

Just to name one person as she contributes a lot to the forum, Sami has already booked 3 separate holidays with ICR for next year and will no doubt get at least one more in September 2013 so that blows that one out of the water

Diane we sell packages too but do not own aeroplanes so cannot give our £60 seats away at cost to get customers and what you are saying about firms like us is completely true and I remember watching a TV programme in the 70's about supporting your corner shop or all the prices will rocket when the big supermarkets get rid of them and that of course is true.

Hagarg the big two have been doing that for years and they know who we are and of course all the other local specialists in each country and yes they want it all so they can dictate prices without anyone taking a morsel from them

Soon by the looks of things it could be just the big one and not two, who knows

Hagarg you hit the nail on the head. I do belive in supporting the indipendant companies and I have previously booked through ICR and done DIY to Icmeler in the past and will continue to do so but when money is tight you can see why people pay the big operators their money. :( Hopefully I will get booked up soon when the price is right. :)

I have indeed booked 3 seperates and may well try for another at the end of the year. The trick to me is to get my flights booked early ready for next year. I have first handedly experienced the brunt of high cost flights because I left it late to book my September hols. I really wish I'd been more organised with this one.
I have been checking my flights for May 2013 and if I book nice and early I can get one with baggage for £198. Not gonna get much cheaper than that am I?
So, without further ado. As soon as I am back from this next September jaunt, I'll be booking those May flights and they are pretty good times too. :D lovely.
