Funny reviews :-D

Postby Chris221273 » 27 Aug 2012 09:10

Was reading a well known review website havin done my own review and found a most funny review.
A couple were complaining about a restaurant in icmeler (I won't mention which one), and said they'd had bad food, but we're given free fruit, with a cocktail in the centre!
They then complained that the cocktail tasted of coloured water, which if you've had the free fruit plate with sparkler will know, that's all it is, coloured water for decoration purposes only.
Have to say, when I read it out we were all in stitches.

So has anyone else read a comical review they'd like to share?
Let's not name bars/restaurants, as damaging reputations isn't what this thread is about, just the funny review you've read.

I was reading some about a cheap AI in Marmaris a few days ago when someone with a female wheelchair user in their party was complaining about wheelchair access in the hotel. A few reviews later some guy mentions seeing the wheelchair user getting "rattled" off a staff member one night and comments "holiday wasn't all bad then".

Well I found it funny

not so much a funny review but totally conflicting reviews. i was searching for reviews on a specific apartment in icmeler, cant remember which one, but the first review was 1 out of 5 everything was terible the room the staff the food the entertainment, everything was really bad and they would never go back again. the next review was 5 out of 5 rooms brill cleaned every day staff brill really helpful, food excellent, entertainment marvelous and would have no problem recomending the apartments to other holiday makers, the strange thing was that both families were there for exactly the same 2 weeks, ie 10aug to 24th aug, just goes to show you cant please all of the people all of the time, and dont believe all you read, by the way there was only 1 1out 5 the rest were 3, 4, or 5 out of 5

I've seen reviews just like this before. To my mind, if you read reviews and say out of 5 reviews, there are 3 decent ones. I'd go and check it out for myself.

That is exactly my philosophy Sami.

I'll consider only those reviews that are constructive in some way, rather than the sycophantic "wow this place is amazing cos all the waiters are just pure gorgeous xxxx!!!!!!!" or the depressing "this place is a disgrace and the staff are thieves!!!!!". Reviews that offer examples as to why they were so good/bad are so much better to use when you're judging whether somewhere is good enough for you. Especially true for families who operate on a budget, although price does not guarantee satisfaction...
