Full English

Postby livelyjenny » 24 Aug 2012 12:11

Staying in the old town at Faber apartments, anyone know of the best place for a lovely full english, with proper sausages, does not necessary have to be the cheapest but the best value, many thanks in advance for any replies.

The Garden opposite Dejavu do a nice one, and they're a proper lovely Turkish husband & wife duo.

You could try Bar 1
This is right outside your gate and gets some good reviews.
I personally would head to the Robin Hood :D

Hi,

We've stayed at the faber for the last 4 years on the run and are due to arrive on 7th September for our 5th (sad I know).

There is a bar in the old town ( opposite wembleys) called "cubanna" which does a good deal. If you have an evening meal, you get a free breakfast.

The food is good and the entertainment is spot on especially for young kids. Well worth a try on a couple of occasions.

Brilliant , glad i have found somebody who is actually going back to the Faber, you must like it, we are due on the 14th September and the reviews on trip advisor for the last month or so look horrendous, some people are writing a few good ones but the bad ones seem to outweigh the good ones, starting to get a little worried, from the replies i have had seems to be some good restaurants close by, not looking for anything special just hope they are clean, will just use as a base , sit round pool most of the day, will partake in a few effes, some breakfasts and lunches if they are good, but like to give custom to other places as they are all struggling, many thanks for the replies i have received and now have a few places to try out, once again many thanks and hope you all enjoy your holidays, hopefully we will .

Hi Mauler45red and Silverfox BC, see you have both stayed at Faber before, what are all the bad reviews about, as i say we arrive on the 14th September surely they cannot be that bad, we booked it up due to the fantastic reports earlier on in the season, getting a little bit worried now, but surely if you are both going back then it cannot be that bad, what sort of food do they do in the Cubanna and is the food good in the Faber, many thanks for all the replies .

Hi jenny,
The faber is a great hotel. It only has around 30 rooms so it's not too over crowded which I think is it's mian appeal. The hotel is run by a young lady called Ozlem who will do everything she can to make your stay a great one. The lads who work in and around the bar (speedy, slowman, shy boy, Tom ) will treat you like family. If you need any help at all or want to book trips or buy gold or get recommendations where to eat, speedy's your man.

As for the hotel. It's not the ritz, but it's clean and quiet. Maids come in every other day and if you need anything for your room you can get it.

In my oppinion, it really depends on the sort of person you are. If you look hard enough you will find problems with the hotel. I prefer to kick off my shoes and sit back and relax, and leave all my troubles behind.

The one occasion I did feel the need to have a word, was a couple of years ago when the pool Wasn't getting cleaned daily as it usually was. I had a word with Ozlem and speedy and the cleaners came in a couple of hours later. Some people would rather leave negative feedback rather than have a word to resolve it.

The food in cubanna is lovely. As per most bars, you can get pretty much ge whatever you want. But the food is lovely and the entertainment is very good. There's a pool table, Internet and have a gret karaoke which is always a good laugh. By the end of the night everyone is up with wigs, whistles, sparklers e.t.c. Plus you get a free Beckie the next day.

If you would like any more info just ask. We will be at the faber at the same time so come and say hello. Just ask speedy to show you who Garry is.

Yes we went to the Faber for the first time las tMay and had a wonderful holiday, the boss lady and the staff are all great and will do all they can to be of help if you need it. We have booked for September this year and May'13 and cant wait to get back. It is a laugh a minute with speedy and his staff in the bar, the food is great, we, for the first time in 11 years stayed in for the Turkish night and the caberet was marvellous from the boys in the bar and chief, who not only cooks wonderful food but is a laugh a minute, did not need outside entertainment. Do read reviews but remember a holiday is what you make it and you usually get back what you give. We found in May that more than 50% of the guests were repeat customers
