No Name Bar!!!

Postby x-raki-girl-x » 16 Aug 2012 11:43

In Icmeler at the moment. Last night 6 of us went for drinks at this bar. It was buy one get one free cocktails. So we all ordered our cocktails but when they arrived there was NO ALCOHOL in them. We complained to the manager, who came over and topped them up with vodka - the drinks were still weak!

I then ordered a 'zombie' which should have contained white rum, dark rum, Ameretto, vodka and fruit juices. Once again when the cocktails came there was absolutely no alcohol in them and the colour of the drink didn't reflect any colour of dark rum or Ameretto. Yet again we spoke to the manager but this time he was very rude and abrupt. He tried to convince us there was alcohol in them but we all tasted them and agreed there was nothing in there. Another member of staff saw there was a problem and immediately made fresh drinks and this time they were perfect.

Why is it that even when you're prepared to spend money, these people try to fool you?

Thought I would warn you all. Apart from that, having a great time!

if a place tries to rip you off the best thing we can all do is vote with your feet. They may soon get the message if their place is quiet

This also happened to me in four separate bars ,the first bar the no name bar I did not mention it,just did not go in there again, but in the other three bars I did and they replaced the drinks, this is the first year this has happened and I hope it's not going to become more commonplace ,everytime I had a drink after I was checking them which is something you should'nt have to do,the bars were Stella show, De ja vue and the Sahin palace. In the De ja vue bar a girl on the next table also complained about no alcohol in her cocktail, this is happening too frequently to be genuine errors in my opinion.

If a bar has made a mistake because maybe the brusher up made the drinks and never had a clue, there is no reason then to slate the place as people/families livelyhoods is dependent on this.

I don't know the no name bar so can't comment on strength of drinks but in the Stella show there is just one barman running the show and he is very good at his job and the drinks are never stinted on and I can vouch for it as I sit at the bar there on many occasions watching him and of course sampling the drinks

Lots of people read these forums and some comments made this year may needlessly have hurt certain places unjustly so please think before post about a place

We can all make mistakes and if No name had made a mistake on 1 occasion fair enough. However it happens on a regular basis I for one like the feedback that people give advising me of good bars/restaurants or ones that are poor. I am then able to make an informed judgement on the information I have.

These forums are not all about sweetness and light. If a particular place is not giving the expected standard that we expect then regretably they will be hit where it hurts, in their pockets

By all means hurt them in their pocket but Stewart where does it say it happens on a regular basis at the no name bar

I dont see it coming up regular and if it was a regular occurence then the place wouldn't be busy as I see when I pass around the back of it in the evening going to town

If people do not use forums it then does not mean that they are no lesser than forum people for sensing there is no alcohol in a glass

Forums are a good thing I suppose to enlighten people beforethey go abroad to a certain area but they can also be very damning to someone business unjustly

Myself family and friends have frequented this bar for a lot of years now, and our party will be 20 people plus. we have never experienced no alcohol, maybe not enough , but if you take it back to the bar they are more than happy to put more in, too much sometimes. Harun has been the head drinks maker and he is very experienced. All I can say is if i have been anywhere, and especially where buy one get one free are advertised and feel that its weak Ill just have one drink and pay full price for it, but I always say" just make it a good one". I think its our mentality of an offer, we all like free! and as JT says the place is always packed out, and you have a great night, if you dont like it say it with your feet, but dont slag places off their livlihood does depend on it, and people will make their own descision.

We are here, often go to no name, usually every night but no longer. Suffice to say, check what you are getting, if it tastes a bit odd, get it changed. Never had an issue with the amount of alcohol, but rather the quality of it. Nuff said me thinks

I have drank in No Name Bar before now and I did not have any problems with alcohol content. I could say the same for Hob Nob Bar during their buy one get one free phase of the evening. Not only are they are quite overpriced and the glasses are small, the alcohol has got to be minimal to say the least. Though, even knowing this, I still go back in there because I like the music and the staff. I just now always drink full price drinks and I watch them being poured. No big deal. :)
