How much can I bring back from Turkey.

I smoke cigarettes but I want to bring some rolling tobacco back for my step-daughter?

Is it 200 cigarettes AND 200g of rolling tobacco?

The legal age for purchasing Cigarettes in the UK is 16 and is to be amended to 18 years of age from Oct.1st 2012 so your daughter does not have an allowance.

Would she not be able to carry them though. The legal age is 16/18 to buy but what would stop someone buying them who is of legal age?
Bit like you're not allowed to buy an alcoholic drink in a pub till your 18 but you can drink alcohol in a pub at a much younger age if you're with your parents, having a meal!

I'm not gonna risk it, so long as I can take cigs and my wife can take tobacco that's not a problem.

Not saying you should try this but on our way back the wife and I bought 2 boxs of amber leaf each (£20 a box in Dalaman) making 20 pouches. My daughter (19) bought one box for us and we were able to walk on through customs back home. Again not saying you should do this but its up to you. Also forgot wife bought a bottle of Gin on the flight home as well

If you buy cigs on the plane coming back i think they only sell them in packs of 400.

Unfortunately at Dalaman they will tell you anything just to make the sale.
Remember, if you are caught, you will either have to pay the UK tax there and then or have your goods confiscated.

You are only allowed 200 Cigarettes (one box of 10) OR 250grm Tobacco (one box of 5) for each person aged 17 or over. Any of the other suggestions mean you are breaking the law.

Also you are only allowed 1 litre of spirits (and, strangely, this also applies to those 17 or over)

There is always a choice on the plane of 200 or 400 packs but the best deal is always buying 400. For example (on Jet2 website) 200 Lambert and Butler £27.00 or 400 Lambert & Butler £45.00

Don't know the price at Dalaman, but sure someone here can advise, though I will check next week while waiting for my case. (Did I mention that this time next week I will be on my way? )

Hi, I purchased 600 B & H on arrival at Dalaman and they were less than £60.00 and on return I purchased 600 Mayfair and they were £45.00. They were cheaper in Dalaman than on the Jet 2 flight. There were three of us travelling so no law breaking although it was my passport that was used in Duty Free. Cigs are not always available on return flight so do not depend on getting them on return journey. Golden Virginia was a good price at Dalaman.

Legally you are allowed 200 cigarettes (bought in UK or on flight) you are allowed an additional 400 purchased on arrival.

I am pretty sure that the the shop at arrivals will let you buy more, but do so at your own risk. Though, been going since 2003 and have never seen anyone stopped, questioned or checked.

I bought 200 Mayfair at gatwick last year, but won't buy any duty free this year.
I bought L&M Red in the shops in icmeler....£1.50 a packet, and a nicer smoke than Mayfair, and took 10 packs home, for £15.00 Much cheaper than duty free!!!
