Last night we booked our holiday for 8th July 2013 till 23rd July 2013....only can go for 2 weeks due to youngest not being able to have more than 2 weeks off work at a time. We still have this years holiday to look forward to, roll on 17th August seems like forever since we last there x

hi jayjay1950, thats the date were going in 2013, where are you staying, were at the Babadan apts, it will be our 3rd time, going there 18th Aug this year.

Hi Karens, we are not all that far from you,we stay in the old village at Moonlight, it will be our 4th year there this year but feels like we have been going forever x

hi jayjay1950, am i guessing you maybe flying oyt of birmingham too beings as your in Gloucester? We are. We intend to venture more into the old village this year as last we seemed to head the other way. Cant wait now, on serious countdown!!!

We're also booked for next year going a bit later next year 14th sept have been that late before so not bothered having a break from Icmeler this year, going to Bitez we have not been to that part of Turkey before so really looking forward to it, we like to try other places out but always go back to Icmeler inbetween so see you all next year

You are right Karens we do fly out from Birmingham, we tried it one year from Manchester and it was a nightmare so never again lol. Our flight next year goes at 15.55 getting into Dalaman at 22.00, this year tho we leave at 20.55 getting to Dalaman at 03.05

yorkshirerobin we almost didn't go to Icmeler next year, we did look at holidays to Croatia, Egypt or Bulgaria, but the pull of Turkey was too strong i think

jayjay1950, ha thats the flight were on too, and the same one this year. always have done the 7 or 8 am flight but now the children are 8 & 6 we thought we would have a later flight, looking forward to not getting up at stupid o'clock!!!

We have been going to Turkey for 12 yrs now and have not wanted to try anywhere else. As i said we try different places in Turkey but always go back to Icmeler inbetween Next year will be our 6th visit we have been to Hisaronu, Kusadasi and Alanya and as i said we are going to Bitez nr Bodrum this year we love Turkey and its people, food etc and each area is different can't wait 48 sleeps

We went to Side one year,it was quite nice there but people are not as friendly as in Icmeler,the only other place we have been in Turkey is Bodrum on a day trip to the market when we stayed in Kos,i will say no more about that experience I would like to see a bit more of Turkey though,maybe when the kids have stopped coming with us we will take an extra trip

I've been down near there - went to a little place called Akyarlar in between Turgetreis and Bodrum.
Turgetreis was lovely but Bodrum was a bit like Blackpool with sun, a bit too commercial for my liking - I suspect Marmaris is much the same, hence choosing Icmeler this year.

Thats why we chose Bitez it's only a small place planning on a visit to both Akyalar and Turgetreis when we are there will visit Bodrum but only for the Castle etc

I went to Alanya a few years ago and even though I loved the beach there, I did not find the people that friendly but also the hassle was a lot worse. Icmeler is my second home and I feel a lot safer walking around the old village and town there than anywhere else. Apart from Cost Caleta in Fuerteventura which was really friendly and will go back there next year too.
