What's close by to the Senem Apartments

Postby Chris221273 » 08 Jul 2012 08:08

Hey all,
Going to be staying at the Senem Apartments in 32 days time and just wondered what's close by, with regard to Restaurants/Bars etc.
Would also love to go to Cafe Rose, as saw a lot of talk about it on the forum last year, but we only ventured in to the old village once and couldn't find it.
Any info will be much appreciated.
Also wondering if anything will still be open in the old village when we arrive.
Our flights get in to Dalaman at 23.25 so am guessing we might be in resort around the 1am mark, and would love to dump the cases in our room and pop out and have a relxing, albeit very late efe's (or two)
Thank You
Chris & Anita

not to sure of the restaurants and bars that are in the old town now as i have not stayed up there for several years but rest assured that there will be people still sitting talking drinking at lots of places when you arrive and if you want a few beers they will only be to pleased to serve you some places stay open later because some of the locals visit them after they finish work ,enjoy your holiday !

We arrived at Senem around the same time as you. Staff cooked us a snack and bar was opened, put cases in and enjoyed our food and a drink and a chat. The nearest places are Sidik's family restaurant; Wembley Bar and Cubana which I am sure will still be open. The Dejavu is also nearby but you may find there is activity going on at Senem and be happy to stay there for the first night. I am sure you will enjoy.

Cafe Rose can be found as follows

Leave the hotel and turn left

At Cross Roads turn right
Walk up the road past Wembley on the right and Cubana on the left
Cross the bridge over the dry canal and Turn left
You should see signs from here but its the next right turn and can be found on the left hand side

Just to add to Dave's directions....when he mentions crossing the bridge, you'll have just passed a bus stop and Sun VIllage apartments
If you are getting lost, anyone in that neck of the woods would be happy to direct you - Rose is a bit of a local legend and well worth a visit
Lovely in the heat of the day to be sat in the shade of her garden! And it's magical at night too
HOpe you manage to find it

I can only second what everybody else has said about Cafe Rose. This is a little gem. So wonderful during the afternoon heat. Her food is basic but lovely.

I have just been to Poundland to buy her usual fix, Maltesers!

Hope you all pay her a visit. Can't wait to see her again in two weeks time.

And credit where it's due, I think it was Helen who kindly sent me an idiot's guide to finding Rose's a few years ago
Thanks again Helen, hope to bump into you now I've finally booked
