the first reason is that if there is a really bad storm in the winter then it stops the water from coming in so far
Just been looking into this,
Icmeler isn't a TIDAL beach, IE the water doesn't flow in and out like my local beach near my house? But I guess if there was a really bad storm it is better to be prepared for a worst case scenario.
Do big tractors dig it up? Im guessing the waiters don't run out with spades and do it?
Good that the local businesses buy the sand etc in front of there places, it's a real sense of community spirit there
Does the council help with costs as well?
