Changing Attitudes

well, I have yet to go to Icmeler, only a few days to go!!, but since finding this forum the sheer amount of useful info on here, places to eat, the map with all the restaurants, I think it will make our holiday amazing. Without it I think we would have been lost to be honest and so perhaps not been as good a holiday. We would have been in at the deep end without knowing where anything is possibly spent a lot of time walking around blind.
I know that some folks migt like to discover for themselves and thats part of the holiday, but I like to have a heads up from past knowledge and experiance which I now have from here, so thanks to all of you guys! and the Admin team running this forum.

Ah! sometimes it pays to be controversial. It certainly brightens up the day and the forum on occasion. A lively debate is quite often stimulating - it gets the old grey matter working. Better than 'Fish & Chips' me thinks.

To be fair Lee, I do find that wandering around 'blind' is sometimes part of the enjoyment of a holiday, after all, who rushes around on holiday? Although it's nice to hear of the good reviews and seek out these places too. I really can't wait, be my first time too

yup I guess this is part of the holiday for some folks, I just feel a lot more relaxed knowing what I have read so far about the place. and where to go for help or information.

Lee, Just go and enjoy the experience. It helps to have information on eating and drinking locations and what trips are available, but we are all different and one persons idea of a good meal,hotel,beach,trip or what ever can vary greatly from person to person.
My advise would be take the information and go with an open mind and judge for yourself. I am sure you will all have a great time, and remember its ish time in Turkey.
Oh and i agree with Tim,the forum was as though everybody was singing off the same hymn sheet and supportive of anything and everything in Icmeler. I suppose there are a lot more members now and folk are allowed to have opions and be able to express them, but judging people by what they eat or drink can have a nasty habit of biting back!!

Fanny, I have to say that, due to the freshness of the fish and the wonderful local potatoes, I have had some of the best Fish & Chips ever in Icmeler!

Thanks for making me chuckle again Tim - have to agree re the home made chips!!! there's something about Turkish spuds isn't there, delish!
Had a bad experience once with a "battered" fish in Icmeler that's been enough to put me off trying again - though I could be persuaded perhaps if they served it in newspaper haha
