Evening live music entertainment anywhere?

Something I come back to every year as I love my live music.

Are any of the pubs / restaurants / hotels putting any form of musical entertainments on this year?

Singles, duos, live bands - doesn't matter too much what style of music either, but somewhere to walk to after eating and being able to enjoy some music would be great of my wife and I.

As a 23 timer in various areas of Turkey in the last 15 years, I'm just a bit bored with the restaurant dancers and competing loud rap rubbish (especially the blue swearing in the lyrics at top volume with kids around) blaring out across a lot of the streets, when we're trying to meet people and chat, whereas live players don't seem to belt it out so loud or aggressively, as they all go through a smaller PA system, not have huge amp stacks etc.

We do have some smaller favourite bars if we're just chilling out, but would like to see some live acts if they are around??

Anything out there??

The reason I'm asking again is that our old favoured resort that is seriously going downhill fast - Altinkum - has put in from their Didim council a huge tariff for any bar / restaurant to pay if they want to put on live music anywhere - 2000 Tl up front before any tourist money comes in ??

Just wondered if Icmeler had anything currently in place to stop live music being played?

It's our one disappointment in regard to entertainment on holiday.

We've seen excellent student bands playing classic rock, blues and pop over the years - lyrics a bit dodgy, with pronunciations, but enjoyable nevertheless.

Even a solo singer with backing tapes would be better than nothing at all.

Mmm, I wonder if I can persuade our vocalist in my band to change his holidays????

Afraid that's my only disappointment with Icmeler - lack of entertainment in bars. There is only so many times you can watch the same show - barmen dressed as freddy mercury, tina turner and michael jackson. Do love Icmeler but wish it would up the entertainment a little bit and make it perfect instead of nearly perfect!!!

I'd definitely agree, the entertainment can get monotonous when you've visited a few times. Don't know if the music is getting louder and louder or is it just me getting older. I no longer want the music blasting, especially when you've got different music blasting next door or across the road. I look forward to when the music is turned down at night and it then becomes tolerable and you can have a conversation.

There was a live group on a couple of years ago at the bar opposite Linekers but can`t remember the name of it.Sorry

Last year a young man was playing acoustic guitar in the Apollon bar next door to Chateau de Ville when we were in one night.I saw him advertised on boards at a few of the bars up the road over the fortnight we were there.Saw him interviewed at one during the lunchtime when we were there.Looked like he was going round looking for work and a few bars took him on.And it was a lot nicer than the usual stuff and quite strange with him not knowing how to pronounce words.Just keep your eyes open and look at the boards.

I think the main problem is that a lot of people when they do come on holiday to Icmeler actually just go to the bars that they know

For the past few years, actually 5 odd that I remember there was always live music on at the bar just before the Marti Resort and still is

Apollon had it all last year but not every night and I believe he is starting it again in July

Bamboo before it was demolished had it and before that the singer was always there when it was called something else

Fess bar always had Zeynep and her husband on at leats 4 nights a week for years

Chateau De Ville a few years ago had live singers and good they were

Karisma bar now called Richmeler had and still has live music

Sugars old place above the shops facing Cafe Anne had live music nightly until it closed through lack of interest

The old Turkish house near the dogs home had nightly live music

The old Jazz bar where rangers bar is now had live music every night until the owner died but I never saw any UK people in there

I heard Fantasia has live music so many nights a week

Munamar has a few live acts through the week

Finally I don't know the name of the placebut where the cheap Chinese place was for years has now opened with a big question mark as a name and there is a live act there

I have probably missed some but sorry if I have

I left this alone so people who had been here befor could answer but as they never I have replied

Thanks for those, I'll call in when I arrive there in August to see what trips are on the go and chat about what's there for any live music, hopefully with a street map to show where they are situated with new names for bars etc.

The new day trip sounds excellent from what has been said so far !

We usually have a couple of boat trips to break up the fortnight and the boat taxi across to Turunc as well a couple of times, so that may just be another cracking day out!

After enjoying an evening meal we used to stroll along to the appolon bar to listen to the young guy with acoustic guitar who was on a couple of times each week. He was very good, did a range of eagles numbers plus various others and the pronuciation added to the entertainment. Very easy listening and a nice way to finish off an evening
