With the average age of most participants on this forum being a tad above rap gangster appreciation age, it's amazing how many bars just crank up the heavy rap music, regardless of looking at the patronage each night ??
is it just the young waiters wanting to flaunt themselves at the young honeys walking around, as lots of bars with this type of music on are just playing to themselves with maybe one girlfriend or a couple of younger people having drinks.
It seems from several years of looking at threads that the bars have missed a trick to attract custom - music doesn't have to pound out, quality and variety will draw in the English tourists to stay for longer through the night, perhaps make friends of like minded natures where a conversation can still be made, even with some scheduled music in place, and the chance for couples to have a bit of a dance to work off that great Turkish food ??
if entertainment cost us one Tl extra per Efes, not a problem to me, and I would stay around longer, and more often during the fortnight's holiday. I would also recommend that venue to others to help bring in more trade to them.
From previous visits, Friends Bar - that's the one that had conga drums at the entrance? - always seemed fuller than most after the eating times were over, and played a good selection of music - had some rare Beach Boys tracks one year, if I remember correctly ??
