Brining Medication into Turkey

I'm concerned about brining my medication to turkey, I have tablets for Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Water tablets plus a couple I cant remember....

Do I need to declare these at the airport , I can bring my repeat prescription with me will that suffice ?

Hi i have tablets for diabetes and blood pressure to, i have been four times to turkey i have never had to declare them, just make sure they are in the original packing , i always take my repeat prescription as well just as a precaution hope this helps Ian

Just make sure you put them in your hand luggage and not your suitcase.

Just take your repeat prescription with you and keep all your meds in your hand luggage. Take extra with you as well just in case of delays etc. Had a laugh recently when sorting out our Travel Insurance. On declaring existing medical conditions to one company I was told that if they gave prizes for the most meds and illnesses I would have won the prize. A woman in another company told me that next time I wanted a quote to let them know in advance so she could warn her colleagues in case her computer exploded and she could get them to wear safety helmets

Hi I've been taking my sons Ritalin with me for the last 4 years now and I've never had any problems, I just keep them in the box they was supplied in then they know what they are if they want to look at them, have a nice holiday

I am also diabetic but take insulin so need to take syringes blood test kit etc as well as numerous tablets. I have a letter from my hospital which confirms my conditions and this goes with me in my hand luggage along with all the medications( Between the missus and I we need a separate suitcase for all our medicines

i am going to take a first aid kit with me like i did last time containing paracetamol, ibroprofen, and things for upset stomachs etc as well as plasters etc. Last time i just automatically put this in my case but after reading this its got me questioning if this is the right thing to do? should all medication be in hand luggage? and why? is it so that when it shows up on the scanning machines they do not have to call you to open your case?

daisysun, that is a valid question and one that the sages on here will no doubt answer. For years now, Mrs weetoony has carried a medicine cabinet in our hold luggage and has never once been questioned about it and this year it is my intention to add to the cabinet with my BP tablets. We carry enough in hand luggage to tide us over and also carry our repeat prescriptions with us.

We need an extra case for all our tablets etc and we never put them in the cases just in case they don't arrive at Dalaman. Someone recently on the forum mentioned that their suitcase was lost but I think it turned up later. It's just not worth the risk especially if your medicines are essential. Just remember though to take your scissors out of your first aid kit if it's going with your hand luggage, it's so easy to forget, I have to be reminded every year

im forever printing prescriptions for people going on holiday so im sure that is fine, i would suggest keeping them in original packaging though

i have emailed newcastle airport asking them where to pack the likes of paracetemol, calpol etc etc that i will have in a first aid kit and i have received an email back from them saying that there is no problem taking these things into Turkey but that i have to pack them all in my suitcase as the only medication that will be permitted in hand luggage will be prescription medicines, and obviously calpol and creams etc if over 100ml will be confiscated.
