New Bamboo

Postby LouisexXx » 07 Jun 2012 09:05

I flew back home last tuesday after 10 amazing days in the sun... looking at booking up again already!

Anyway before setting off I'd read some really negative comments on here about the New Bamboo bar. Its obviously not my place to say that what was said on here was unfounded, but I just wanted to tell you about my own experience of the place... We decided to judge for ourselves what we thought of it, and Ive got to say all the staff were wonderful with us, couldnt do enough to help us. Like most of the other bars yes they do try and coaxe people into coming in, but not once did I hear anything negative being said about anyone or anyone being given grief for refusing to come in.

We had booked all inclusive, however, we were not impressed with the hotel food and so ended up eating out most nights, and out of the 7 or 8 different places we tried, this was the only place where we had no complaints whatsoever about the food! Aside from this, the atmosphere later on at night was electrifying, and everything was done by staff to make sure everyone was having a great night.

As i said I would never say that what was posted on here was lies, but I do know that on thier facebook page they mentioned that they were aware of the negative comments being made on a forum... so perhaps this has been dealt with?

Personally I think anyway due to fly out should try the place for themselves before judging, as it was one of the factors that made our holiday so great 8)

Last September we took our parents to Icmeler for the first time as they had heard so much about this place from myself and John they wanted to experience it for themselfs ,Sadly on the first few days Mum had a fall and hurt her back and hip ,which meant she was not able to walk too far as we were staying at Greenmar we used Chef and Broadway which was close by and not too far for her to hobble back ,for a little change she decided to go to Dreamboys/Bamboo seeing as myself and John were heading off to the ICR meet @ Sizzlers ,They had a fantastic night in there and had booked to go back the next night for the leg of lamb ,and had spent the last three nights of the holiday in there as the staff were fantastic and really looked after them and when we were leaving a few of the lads came to wave mum n dad off which i thought was a nice touch ,My Dad is the fussiest of eater's and does not tolerate and kind of hassle what so ever in his words a terrific bunch of lads who cannot do enough for you ,they will both be going back in september and visiting Bamboo ,just not as many nights as last year as they are both looking forward to getting around the resort and trying new places ,I know that everyone has different experiences on holiday and its not nice to hear of folk having negative and rude comments but i have to give credit were its due :D

Glad you had a great time Louise but what suprises me is that 7 of the 8 places that you ate at gave you reason for some kind of complaint.I struggle to find any complaints anywhere in Icmeler.

I read on another forum they had been closed for three days for hassle. Doesn't sound like much has changed other than the name.

@South Coast Hero - maybe Im just fussy  Dont get me wrong the food was good elsewhere, this was just my personal fave! Food was fab...

@Molly Malone - they were just about to be closed for the 3 days as we were leaving but we'd heard from our hotel that it was to do with noise too late at night n stuff, which I guess isn't everyones cup of tea! I would say that there are a number of places in Icmeler worse for harrassing people. Anyway Im only giving my opinion and my experience of the place :)

I read on this forum that the person responsible had been sacked so the matter is now sorted. Just hope they learn from their mistakes as the problem had been in this restaurant for a few years.

I went to the cash machines tonight and then kind of loitered on the corner and definitely not to watch this bar but spotted a few big parties heading for the canal and I can honestly say that there was no hassle whatsoever from the lads there

A friendly hello by the looks of it and that was it

hi,

I got home on Tuesday after 9 nights out in Icmeler. Unfortunately Bamboo was shut down for 3 days whilst we were there (I also heard it was something to do with noise level rather than hassle but who knows!). Anyway, these lads really made our holiday, I think out of the 6 nights it was open we were in there at least 5 (not always for dinner) but always in time for entertainment time.

The food is much improved from the last two years and I'd reccommend the ottoman special & shish kebab, really enjoyed these! Think I ate there 3 or 4 times in evening and had breakfast there one day.

There are few new members of the staff & these changes are for the better. Ali, William & one of the other dancers make sure everyone feels included in the dancing etc and it's just a really good atmosphere. We were a party of 7 with ages of 42, 39, 33, 23 & 3 and all of us enjoyed it so there is something for everyone! The service from all the waiters was excellent, I was never without a drink (unlike in another restaurant where I had to wait over 30 mins for a drink).

I've been going in dreamboys for the last 9 years so maybe a bit biased but I do agree it went downhill for a year or two (last year, I only felt the need to visit once) but it's really, really improved this year (food, service & entertaintment) and I am certainly missing the place already!

We always avoided the place like the plague after being hassled and verbally abused in turkish by the guy out front, but two friends of ours, dancers Neset (William) and Ali, are working there this year, so we did go in to see them a couple of times. We didn't have a meal, but we liked the atmosphere and the entertainement was good. Other people commented on the food, so we're planning on trying it for a meal next time.
