When I got married many many many years ago I was a little slimmer than I am know (hard to believe I know)
Anyoo my wedding ring and engagement rings are a little too tight and I would like to have them made slightly bigger

Anyone have an approx idea how much they may cost and any recommendations where to take them.

The only person who could give you an honest answer would be the jeweller himself. It depends if the metal band needs just a stretch or an insertion. Anything else is just a wild guess.

Try to buy a scrap gold ring from E Bay of the same carat value of your ring prior to travelling, to use as material for the expansion - done that several times over the years to strengthen gold rings ie make the bands thicker - even had two sentimental parents' wedding rings joined up into one thick gold ring.

Turkish jewellery repair shops are brilliant and the one being recommended is fair with pricing and provides a quality service - I have a bracelet that broke in January - it waits for a proper repair in August when I go to Icmeler again.

England - yes sir, that'll be £100 + 4 weeks wait for the repair!

Not in Turkey - what time can you come back tomorrow, sir ??

Recommend Star jewellers for repairs - near Jimmy's Okimo, next to a laundry
Dino who owns it does a lot of alterations for the jewellers in Icmeler and made an amazing job of repairing a bangle I'd broken at the airport on the way out - he made a new piece for it from a sketch and it's impossible to tell it was ever broken! Cost me next to nothing
He and his wife Linda are lovely

Have to agree with Fanny. I have used Star Gold & Silver many times and work has been first class and reasonably priced. They are a lovely couple and are happy for you to pop in for a visit without buying anything. They also usually clean our jewellery free of charge, I will be visiting them again next week - oh happy days

I too have put on quite a bit of weight with my wifes excellent cooking skills since our marriage in 1989 and had my wedding band and signet ring enlarged in 2002, they had to cut them off my fingers, they matched the pattern in my wedding band, you really have to look close to find where the enlargement was made. Took them 48 hours and it cost me £25. UK jeweller wanted £60 per ring back then.

Fast Fix is the best for repairs etc. This is next door to ICR office as mentioned previously. We have been buying from him for many years. He can make anything for you, just show him a picture of what you want and he will have it ready for you in about two to three days, just fantastic.

If you do get it repaired do it first thing in the morning.
As the heat out there will make your fingers swell.
I got my engagement ring out there, and although it was a perfect fit, once back in chilly blights it literally falls off!!!

If you go back to see the jeweller this year I'm sure you will get it altered free of charge. May be worth getting your finger sized over here so you can make sure it will fit when altered.
