First timer and now clued up!

Would just like to thank everyone for all the great posts! I have never been to Turkey before and now have alot of information of what looks be be a beutiful place Can't wait to Jet off in June!

You will have a fantastic time in Icmeler and its all about the exploring anyway. Its always good to have a few good pointers but you cannot beat wandering around and having a good look about. Get lost in the Old Village, stop for a drink looking around at the mountains, people watching and enjoying the sunshine. Wander down to the beach front, stroll along the new prom and enjoy the views of the bay.

Yeah I totally agree Sami. Just been so bored stuck here at work and this site just makes the day fly by!

I have been to Greece but with the way things are shaping up over there, did not fancy it again this year.

From what I've heard, I'm glad I chose this part as I was originally going to go with Marmaris but been advised that the area is more relaxed and I can easily get a water taxi 10 Mins away for the clubs. Also the beach is alot better.

I am staying in the Nergis Icmeler Resort, has anyone stayed here as I can only find 3 reviews all over the web. All comments would be greatly appreciated

I'm the same. I sit at work and I cannot help keep logging on to check all the updates. I'll probably get told off one of these days!

Marmaris is so close and you can get the water taxi or a dolmus and then taxi back at night or early morning
There are also 2 clubs in Icmeler anyway which are both pretty good. Not on the scale of Marmaris mind you but good for a late night drink and boogie!!

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a steady stroll to Marmaris. Coming back abit messy wouldn't be the best idea though!
I've heard good things about both, Eastenders seems to get the nod on value but I can imagine them being fairly close. Alot chaper then here in the UK I certainly hope haha.

Only thing that would bother me is probably the smoke, not being a smoker. Just have to drink more and block it all out I suppose

They are both air conditioned and seem to not get very smoky. I don't smoke either and I have never thought of how smoky they are before. They are both walking distance from town which is handy if things get 'messy' as you say!
A lot of people smoke outside now anyway because of the smoking ban elsewhere, I think they feel they need to do it in Icmeler as well. Which is all good.
