If your credit rating is a bit less than rosie, apply for something like a vanquis card. Their interest rate is shocking, but if you're only using it to put a tenner on to cover your holiday, then just pay it straight off and it costs nothing. I have one for my emergency back up, just in case, as extra credit should it ever be needed :)

Hi,
Now and again Barclays have a credit card at only 6.5% interest..................and Not the normal 13+ %
I think at the moment the Simplicity Card is 7.5%

Booked package holiday with T.COOK by credit card, going to chatteau de ville 2 weeks in july/august 2012 (NO FEAR) would not go past them since we were caught in the ash cloud and stuck in benidorm for an extra 7 days T COOK payed for everything, hotel we were in and all meals A brilliant week, thats cooky been plugged, now for credit cards,I pay for everything i can by credit card, never debit card, as you do not get the same safety net, and I never pay cash in shops unless I can carry it out the door with me, know of to many people payed deposits for stuff and then supplier goes bust I recall one shop telling customers the card machine was broken so they would have to pay the deposit in cash, then promply went bust (IS IT JULY YET? WHENS JULY COMMING)

A shame really as I believe the only reason their bookings are down is because of a fear factor by the booking public. The price of their flights aint helping though they are well top end at the moment.

We have used them many times over the years but it looks like they have pulled out of Bournemouth Airport completely. Last year we used thompson from Bournemouth to Tunisia as Thomas Cook were no longer offering anything. This year we are flying thompson to Dalaman and using ICR for transfer and accomodation as Thomas Cook no longer flying from Bmth and then in October once again Thompson....Tui get our business to Egypt in october as Thomas Cook no longer fly from here. So if you live anywhere near me their bookings are down because they have pulled out of Bournemouth airport and to do Gatwick if the flights are reasonable times......lifts for us....we would pay 75.00 more.No competition in Bournemouth...no TC and no onur.....how times change and yet we still are usingTui from Bournemouth

not happy with Thomas Cook right now :(
was in Ankara couple of weeks ago and flew into Antalya with TC
return flight back to glasgow from antalya was delayed in total about 13 hours
shocking treatment given by TC but unfortunately we have no choice as they are the only company we can fly with
currently awaiting a reply after asking for them to refund about £100 I lost on a connecting flight from Ankara and a new bus which I had to purchase

After reading about Thomas Cook's £40 charge at the gate and about discrepancies in different airports about the size of the hand luggage I bought a Rufus Roo Travel Jacket. It can hold up to 10kg so all I will need is my jacket and a handbag :)
