Earthquake

Postby Bigdaddydawg » 09 Nov 2011 21:08

I've just heard about yet another big earthquake in the Van province of eastern Turkey.
All our thoughts and prayers are going out to everyone who is affected by this second terrible tragedy.

Nature can be so cruel sometimes - saw on the news that many of those trapped were involved in rescuing from from the first quake. So sad.

Since we heard the first news, the quakes have not stopped and have been going on constantly but looks like these buildings were damaged by the first big one then the second brought them down

Its terrible that it should happen soon after the 1st quake, we know that Turkey is on a major fault line but it still comes as a shock when we hear this sort of news, our thoghts go out to everyone affected in Van and surrounding areas, and to all Turkish people at this time.Rog

Our close friend Kamil lives in Van and he just got home from a busy season in icmeler/marmaris. you should have seen the photos he posted on fb. His house is practically demolished! its so sad, thankfully his family are all okay but its just such a shame to see it all happen to such lovely people! Thoughts and prayers to all who were involved :(
