Its true you cannot compare the two places. Alanya is nice but much more busy I found. The beaches are very nice and sandy though be careful of the waves. There are some flat rocks under the surf and I slipped a few times. Our hotel was really nice, a bit of a walk into town along the prom but really nice watching the sun go down. Harbour area I would compare to Marmaris, there are loads of eating places and full on bars & nightclubs.

Have fun!

Blondie
Glad you managed to get something sorted as I know it is difficult getting flights from Scotland. I have spent the day looking for September flights but no success so far - prices are over the top. Maybe I'll look at Alanya too. As you say it is still Turkey and gives you a change. Have a great time and looking forward to your review.

No Icmeler for us this Sept. I'm afraid, TC has priced us out. Glad we made Marmaris for the week in June now but Salou is now going to get our business , we can do 10 days AI for less than 10 days SC in Icmeler (and a good AI at that).
Sad but thats finances now!

The prices from Scotland are horrendous at the moment - and not just for Turkey. We looked at various places before managing to get a good deal for Alanya, and figured that at least some Turkey is better than none at all! Hope things come down a bit in price for next year though.
