We always take food with us to eat on the way and buy liquids to drink in the airport to take with us on the plane as they are cheaper.
An English breakfast is 3 Lira in the Florida which at today's rate is equivalent to £1.10. Nefis Pide is excellent and the lamaçun is lovely especially the cheese one which I think was 5 Lira.
You'll get the best value in the restaurants from the set meals. We had excellent set meals at the Blue Fox and the Paris as well as a lot of excellent meals elsewhere. Loads of the restaurants now seem to offer set meals. As mentioned earlier buying a roast chicken is a good idea and we also made baked potatoes in the apartment at lunch time, as we had a microwave. We also take things like sandwich spread with us and
transfer them into plastic takeaway cartons so they weigh less.We also take toaster bags with us to make toasties lunchtime and buy ready sliced cheese in Tansaş.
We also freeze bottled water to take with us in the day. Oh, and by the way you can take liquids through with you in the airport as long as you put it in 100ml bottles up to 1 litre in capacity and put it in the approved plastic bags (Tesco's freezer bags, 20cmsx20cms are cheaper) On our way home we handed in our liquids in
Dalaman but didn't remember that we had another bottle in our hand luggage. We only noticed when we were on the plane, so much for security!
Of course don't forget the drinks offer at Tandoori Sizzler which can make a difference to your bill and they also have set meals so you can't go wrong. I'd definitely recommend the Indian set menu. We had three meals there during our stay and would have had more if I hadn't caught a stomach bug.
If you browse through the forum there have been quite a number of postings on cheaper places to eat. Hope this helps
