Hairdressers

Postby Mulley » 10 Aug 2011 22:12

Just wondering if anyone can give me some help please. Had my hair appointment booked for this afternoon and my hairdresser had booked me in on the wrong day!!! Am off to Icmeler on Friday and now too late to get another appointment so will be travelling to Icmeler with some very dark roots! . Can anyone recommend someone who is good with the colours please. I don't need a cut, just some mixed highlights and lowlights. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks - jane.

Hi Jane, My friend went to Mad Hackers ( I know....name puts you off lol!) it is opposite De Ja Vue just up towards the old village from the school. She had her roots done and highlights as well and he did a great job- better than the hairdressers where she lives. She wanted to take him home (to do her hair of course!)
Am sure members will come up with some more recommendations if this is not near where you will be staying.

Hi Chocoholic, thanks for that, we are staying at the Ekinci which is on the edge of the old village so will defo be checking this one out. I normally just get a blow dry but gonna go for it. That's why I love Icmeler, the hairdressers are so much cheaper than where I live and most of the time they do a better job. Role on tomorrow..... Thanks again.

Have visited several hairdressers in Icmeler ( with not so good experiences...) and this year we found this amazing new place. If you walk towards the old village from DIA supermarket and past Pizza Tomato, you'll get to it. It's called Magic Touch, wonderful Tunisian lady runs it with her Turkish husband. She speaks excellent english and they offer all the services you might need. I had my hair done and my daughter had hers and we both loved them. They also do threading, which is great :D !

I had my hi-lights done yesterday at my normal salon but by a different girl and I'm really not happy with the result. If they don't put it right I'll be looking for a decent hairdresser in Icmeler too, lol!

We're staying at Sarigul aparts, anyone know of a good one in that area? Preferably one with AC and that stays open late.

Sorry janey, don't know of any I have been to in that area but am sure some members can recommend one. However I have been to quite a few as has my friend, I only have shampoo and blow dry- I have long hair and they get a far better result than any do here, absolutely poker straight. The guys are better than the women though (it's one of the few things guys are better at lol!) I won't hesitate to go to any in Icmeler now as I have had great hairdo from every one I have gone to. They all stay open late, most until 11 or even later and all have AC(????) :)

Years back I always had my hair done whatever country I was in and we've obviously had a fair few cuts in Turkey (hubby's best friends wife has her own salon) but never in Icmeler.
I should have had a cut yesterday as well as the (awful) hi-lights but as I pay nearly £50 just for a trim I thought "sod it" I'll wait until I'm out there, I know it's gotta be much cheaper and loads better.

I'll wait and see if anyone can suggest anywhere local to our aparts or I'll just take pot luck :-)

I was not happy with the cut I got from my hairdresser who I have used for many years and decided to have hair cut in Icmeler in June I used Chico's near to Turkish Delight and must say it is the best cut I have had in years.

As already mentioned Mad Hackers (opposite Dejavu) is near to the Sarigul. I have used Mad Hackers for the last two years for a wash, cut and blow dry. This year it cost me 30 lr (quoted 35 but a bit of haggling works wonders) so with the exchange rate that would work out now about £12. They also do nails, threading, facial cleaining in there. They also stay open late.

Enjoy your hols 8)

My Turkish friend owns a salon in Icmeler and is an excellent hairdresser. I always have my hair done there whether it be colour or cut and he blow dries and straightens my hair every night for me. The salon is called FX and is situated opposite bank with the steps going down to it off the road up to market, think it's next to Azra jewellers. Please pay him a visit he's a lovely lovely man and is so friendly too :D

Hi everyone,
thanks for all your replies. am in Icmeler at the moment and found one just up from the Ekinci/ Had a blow dry there yesterday and, yes it was a fella who did it. I think the ladies are good at the nails and pedicures. really pleased with the results so have managed to get half head of 3 different colour hightlights for 75 lira so going to give it a go. Hopefully will be ok but if not, I will be the one wearing a beanie hat for the remainder of the holiday ha ha. thanks for all your help ladies. If anyone is interested let me know and I will find out the name of it for you. Its opposite the Miami bar, there is a gents hairdressers adjacent to it for all the fellas and my boyfriend swears by them. Happy holidays everyone to all those who have yet to come out here. x

That's an excellent price! I'll definitely be on the lookout for that salon. :-)

Hi folks,
Had my hair done yesterday and really pleased with it, had loads of comments. they did just want I wanted and more, very relaxing and not hanging around like I have done in a lot of hairdressers in Jersey. can thoroughly recommend it. They charged me 90 lira including a fab blow dry. that's round about 30 pounds. can's go wrong, I think its called Show Hairdressers and barbers but you can't miss it if you go past the Miami bar in the old village and its just up on the right hand side of the road. The lady who does the nails, pedicures etc. has given me four leaflets for a discounts on pedicure which was 20 and she has given it to me for 15. can't argue with that price so when the rest of our party arrives I can feel a girlie pamper coming on. Off to the pool now

We discovered a new place this year cant remember the name but its on the corner next to Robin Hood bar up from lal and babadan appartments. Owned by Katya - cant miss her shes about 7 months pregnant !!

I had "otterman" shave, bit more expensive at 25 lira but worth every penny. Was being pampered for a good hour, shaved twice, face mask, hot and cold towels, neck shave, ears and nose hair, scalp neck massage the works!!

Wife had manicure and pedicure including the artwork. None of the transfers, stamp work but all individually hand painted with whatever design she wanted. Daughter had the same and again they were both in there for at least an hour each. I was nextg door in the Robin Hood with a cold refreshment!!

And then on the last day the kids had their hair braided and they loved it and it lasted a good two weeks after we got home.

needless to say plans have been made to visit Katya on the first day next year to have haircuts etc rather than have them done before we go. Even my little girl has stopped biting her nails on the promise that if she grows them she can have the artwork next year.......4 weeks and she now has some nails growing!!!
