Icmeler and Teenagers??

Postby Lianne » 26 Jul 2011 21:43

I am taking my 2 kids and 2 of their friends to Bonjour Hotel 9th August. 2 boys age 16 and 2 girls age 14.
Can anyone tell me if I am mad or whether they will really enjoy Icmeler and have lots to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Are there lots of good bars where the boys would be welcome, they love sport! And will the girls be comfortable walking around in the day on their own? I would like them all to have a bit of freedom if poss? What do youngsters do in the evening? The boys will get more freedom, I think the girls will be with me!!
Looking forward to reading any replies.
Thanks :)

I reckon they will love it as I went this year to Turkey with my friend, we are both 16, and had an amazing time and are going back again next year. :)

My two both love Icmeler - and I had no problems letting my daughter and her friend walk around the resort either by day or by night. They will be welcome everywhere and will have a great time!

They'll all be fine and have an amazing time am sure!!
My daughter and her mate loved it last year when they were 14, wandering around on their own during the day and going out for tea on their own, with a couple of nights spent in Eastenders with older friends - no they didn't stay out til 4am haha It was nerve racking for us waiting for them at the bar in the aparts, but we'd decided to let them have a bit more freedom, provided they stayed together and didn't drink - and to their credit, they stuck to the agreement!
Thing with Icmeler is that they can do more than they can at home - visiting bars, etc and people treat them with respect and like adults. It was a great experience for them to be able to spread their wings without fear of trouble etc Also, there are cameras in Icmeler so if/when they walked home on their own at night, the deal was that they had to walk a route where cameras are up
I reckon they'll have a better time than you hahaha

I am sure they will have a brilliant time. My son and daughter who were 14 and 17 last time we were in Icmeler had no problems at all. In fact some of the waiters who worked at "our local" would meet up with them and ensure they had a good night and got back to the apartment safely.

I agree with all the above. I have been taking my daughters to Icmeler since they were 14 & 16 and they still go back every year as they enjoy it so much. There are always other teenagers there for them to meet and as said often the staff will take them out and bring them back safe. I can honestly say that I have never worried about their safety but like other parents did set some ground rules when they were younger. They will enjoy the bars with the entertainment and for the boys there is lots of stuff to do on the beaches. Also have known the staff in some apartments set up football matches etc where they get the guests to join in.
You will all have a fantastic time and bet you get the Icmeler bug. :D :D

You're very welcome Lianne. As for suggestions what to do, TBH, they enjoyed meeting people as they wandered and loved finding their own "regular" places to drop in for a cool drink or their own spot on the beach for a bit of sunbathing! They met lots of people and loved sitting chatting to staff in their fave bars/restaurants during the day when the staff have more time on thei hands.
There's also the waterpark in Marmaris if you/they are going further afield and fancy a bit of excitement. Mine love the boat trips, so that was three days each week accounted for
We're off on Monday for 3 weeks and can't wait. Have an amazing time :)

hiya i went last year with my mum, her friend and my friends. of a day we all done activities or relaxed on the beach. of a night we all had tea together then we went off on our own to the bars/clubs. Always made very welcome where ever we went and felt very safe. Locals are always happy to help if you get lost like us
