why do people sell these

Uggg! Dread to think, not as pets thats for sure.
Perhaps is for medicinal purpurses like we would use them many years ago. Hope it's not to eat, if so I will not be trying any new Turkish dishes!

I've never seen them in any market and I have been to numerous all over Turkey

I have never seen any leaches sold in the markets, suppose its another name for the stall holders who pester you

fethiye 3 years ago one old lady had 2 plastic bag with water in there were these what looked like leeches ( like a small black eel thing ) swimming around not even such if they were for sale

also went to datca around 8 years ago which is a poor area and i saw the same here but the lady only had one bag
