I did that last year, I had bought a leather jacket, and a Liverpool Fleece for a friend, so I took them out of the carrier bags and filled the pockets until we got through to departures, then put them back in the carrier bags. When I got to Cardiff though, I had so many carrier bags we got stopped by Security, thankfully I never bring over the limit smokes.
