QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS RE H4U GONE BUST

Postby Rami Off Work » 03 Aug 2011 20:43

This will be the only topic on forum where we answer everyone's questions.

Here are answers to some of your possible questions:

ICR Travel is in business and everything is as usual as before.
All your hotel/transfer arrangements made using ICR Travel are in place.

As for flights, booked over the telephone or online, you were contracted to H4U for ATOL coverage. You had paid fees for this coverage so to say the least you are financially covered.

If you have booked and hold Aegean or Holidays 4U flight tikcets, then you must fill a CAA form to claim your money.

As for alternative arrangements, there are plenty of other flight companies online where you can book alternative flights. If dates/times do not exactly match to your original arrangements, have no worries, we will do our best to ammend your hotel and transfer arrangements accordingly.

If you are not able to get flights for the same dates as original, call us and we will do our best to look around for you.

Our phone lines are back on and all the other threads will be deleted as there were some unfair comments made on various threads re ICR being in business or what not. Just so everyone is clear, it is holidays4u that has gone bust, not ICR and the only responsibility we have in regards to this unforseen situation is to help our customers make alternative arrangements so they can continue with their holiday plans.

Any further questions? Please type away.

Thank you for posting Rami.

My only question is about my October flight, booked via ICR. Do I go ahead and re-claim the money back myself through my own bank, as I paid by credit card, or do ICR claim this back?

Please claim with CAA directly and you will be issued a full refund alot faster.

Thanks

For Info

The CAA downloadable claim form states that if you paid by credit card you must go through your credit card company, I have spoken to my bank and they have requested that I write enclosing copies of my confirmation, credit card statement if I still have it and a copy of the downloadable letter from the CAA.

They will be going in the post tomorrow.

You may find it quicker to make a claim on your credit card, unfortunately for myself and my husband we booked with a debit card so ours has to be claimed through the CAA, you usually get a refund within 6 weeks with your credit card company, it can take much longer via the CAA :?

I have been a bit more fortunate because I soon as I heard I went straight onto TC and booked another return flight as that was all I needed although a little more expensive than it was yesterday! As for getting a refund goes I phoned my cc comp Marks and Spencer and they are going to send me out a claim form and as soon as they receive it they will give me a refund of the full ammount. They said they need to wait 60 days to get a response from Aegean disputing any claim (which is unlikely)! So my advise would be to anyone who has booked by CC is to phone them as mine were very helpful. I hope everyone involved gets sorted.

Yes, I have also known that you get refund much faster if you paid by credit card. I booked for two flights next year with Aegean direct and paid with my credit card. Sorry for all those who booked with debit or cheque, I always book holidays/flights with credit card even if I have funds in the bank to cover it- its much safer that way.
Makes you wonder why they didnt put up the prices a bit, I would have rather paid a bit more than this happen.
Hope everyone gets sorted out.

I booked next years flights in June, and they have sent me the forms out yesterday to claim back from my Credit Card. I phoned this morning to claim back for this Octobers flight, which I booked via ICR, but because that was paid for in June 2010, I just need to put that claim into writing and enclose a receipt. Hopefully it wont take too long.
