Irish Pub

Postby Higgs » 21 Jan 2008 23:03

Hi all,
Be gentle with me as I'm new to the forum.
I booked a two week holiday for the family (27th June) and find "Icmeler Online" a fantastic help. As I never met anyone who paid a visit to Icmeler, I find the forum and info supplied a great help in planning the holiday. I believe there is an Irish pub in the resort, but where is it located? Can anyone suggest a good restaurand/pub that sell "real ale"
Looking forward to our stay and am sure to use ICR for all of our excursions and help for a relaxing holiday. See ye in June.
Pity there's no interest in the World Cup from my neck of the woods.
Regards;
Higgs.

Irish Pubs

Postby Sue Pryer » 21 Jan 2008 23:44

Welcome Higgs. We will be gentle  There are a few Irish Pubs in the resort but I will leave it up to others to guide you on that one as I'm lousy on directions. I don't think you will find them quite the same as your home grown variety! But hey there are so many fun places in the resort that you will be spoilt for choice.

Welcome Higgs

The Irish pub we went to no Irish folk to be found (unless they were holidaymakers) we had a few good nights there.

If you walk down the canal the side where Dreamboys is and take your first right and you will find it on your left.

Happy holiday.

Andrea :)

The old Pulse 8 was renamed the Irish bar with a big green shamrock and a leprechaun painted on the wall.

You wont find any real ale or any Irish music unless a gang of people decide to have a sing song.

There is another one that was renamed the Irish bar which is really a restaurant (go figure) but you wont find any Irish music in there either.

You will though find plenty of nice staff and owners who will want to look after you and entertain you and though it may not be what you were looking for you will still have a good time.

When I was there in September last year, I stayed at the hotel facing the Irish Bar and it played the same irish cd over and over from about 6 o'clock!

The waiters were very nice and I think they have cans of guiness on sale.

I hope this helps, have a great time!!

Hi Higgs'

Although you may not find the typical style Irish bar. The ones that are in Icmeler are livley and A good laugh .

The waiters often served drinks balanced on their heads

I'm sure you will enjoy these bars, even though they aren't what you first expected them to be.

Hi Higgs

As far as the craic goes, Icmeler's like Ireland with sunshine!
There's plenty to be had despite the lack of Irish music - apart from I'll Tell Me Ma When I Go Home
You'll have a great time and am sure you'll be going back time and again!!

We went into Havana bar last year on our way back from the beach for a snack and Zaza was playing an Irish CD of a comedian and it was so funny. We had a few beers and it was really naughty to do this in the late afternoon but hey what are holidays for. Zaza copied a cd for us to bring home. It was a lovely afternoon and is added to my lovely memories of Icmeler. Can't wait to return in Sept :D
