Does everywhere do Turkish food or is it certain places ? Like where ?

Would love to try it, just worries me my IBS might not like it

Loads of restaurants have Turkish sections on their menus - or there are places which stick to serving mainly traditional Turkish food such as the Hanedan, Kerem, Selam and Lal, to name a few - as well as the little kebab/pide places.
I would think you would be able to find some dishes which would be okay for you, Colette - not everything is highly spiced, for example, and if you know which foods tend to make your IBS worse, you could ask if they contain those foods to give you a bit of a guideline.

Everything makes it worse

I should give it a go one night, I love casseroles and stuff , it would make a change from "Chicken" every night

Wouldn't go back there, the man hoofed the cat out onto the road.

What do people think of Ayran? Bit of an acquired taste, I reckon - personally I quite like it, but I know a lot of people don't. A lot of the Turkish people say it's the best thing to drink in the heat, as it keeps your salt levels up. I know one poor soul who bought some from the supermarket thinking it was milk though - and got a bit of a shock when they tried to have it with their cuppa!

That's a great idea, rondon - and I love menemen too. If something you like isn't on the menu, most places will be happy to make it for you if you ask them nicely.

Haha we bought some strawberries from the market on our first visit 12 years ago and bought Aryan from Tansas thinking it was cream. Had to rinse it off and just use sugar. I think it tastes disgusting but know the Turkish love it. Yuuughhhk. Love Menemen, keep meaning to try making it but know it won't taste as good.

This is Sini Kebab that I've just got out of the oven.
It's spicy ground beef mince pressed into the dish with a layer of potato slices, a layer of tomatoes and chilli's.

The juices taste gorgeous but it's too hot to tuck in to at the moment, lol!

I can now confirm that this tastes chuffing good, lol!
I'll certainly be looking for it on menu's when I'm out there next month.
Sini Kebabı’ is also known as ‘Tava Kebabı’ or 'Tepsi Kebabı' , if you see it, give it a go! :)
