Many of you may know Sidik when he used to work at Efes Inn with his brother Mehmet. Both have now left and Mehmet is now managing the Blue Star Apartments in the Old Village (next to the Majestic Apartments).
Sidik, for the last couple of years, has run a restaurant called Captain Sinbad's in the Old Village. This year he has moved to set up his own restaurant called "Sidik's Family Restaurant". If you walk past Romance Restaurant (on your right) and Robin Hood Bar (on your left) Sidik's is a little further on just before you get to Efem Apartments on the right hand side.
As the name of the restaurant suggests, it is run by Sidik and his lovely wife and it is a true family concern. A lot of his customers have followed him from Efes, Captain Sinbad's and now to his own restaurant - which goes to show how popular his meals are. He serves both traditional Turkish and the usual steak/chicken etc. All food is fresh and cooked to order. His garlic mushrooms are to die for.
We ate there on Wednesday 22nd June and his restaurant was absolutely packed to capacity. He had a group of friends in (8 in all) who were celebrating a birthday and three lots of people (including ourselves) who were dining there on the last night of their holiday. We had to wait a little longer for our meal, but Sidik had brought in extra staff to help out as he knew it was going to be busy and everyone worked so hard to try and keep all the customers happy. Eddie was his usual attentive self and couldn't apologise enough if he had left us unattended for more than a few minutes. The meal was well worth the wait, it was cooked to perfection - we didn't mind one bit that the meal had taken longer than normal, who is in a rush when they are on holiday anyway?
Give Sidik's a try - he is a lovely man and does everything he can to give excellent service in every way so if you do have to wait a little for your meal - sit back, relax and enjoy the ambience - you will not be disappointed.
