Hi Flora
I spent last New Year in Marmaris. Now being an
Icmeler lover I really don't like
Marmaris very much in the summer-time - too busy, too noisy etc... but I really enjoyed my week there and have decided I do like Marmaris after all - but in the winter!
Went to a New Year's Eve party in a
hotel which was great - I must have been the only English person there, but the drinks were flowing, the food was fabulous (must have been 6 courses!) and the music was great. I'd love to do it again, it's a New Year's Eve I'll never forget!
As Lou says there are many places open for business in Marmaris, and half the bazaar was open. We ate or drank down on the Marina a few times and some days it was even warm enough to sit outside. Only needed a light jacket as the temperature was about the same as spring-time here. We had a couple days of rain - and boy did it rain, the roads in Icmeler were like rivers.
I have to say it was really strange seeing Icmeler all closed up and the sand piled up on the beach.
The only downside was that they seemed to be digging up all the roads and it was a bit of a nightmare driving around Marmaris - i reckon know the back routes quite well now!
