Hello, We have been going to Icmeler for many years but as we are not beach people i was wondering what part of the beach in Icmeler is suitable for our 4 year old grandson to play with a bucket/spade. We are having a family holiday on the 23 Sept. Thanks

Well Truth, to be honest the beach in Icmeler is shingle so a bit difficult to make sandcastles. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news!!!!

Hi Truth

The last few times in Icmeler we've used the Yakamoz beach, down towards the Munamar (Joy) hotel.

I reckon it's the cleanest part of the whole beach, the sun beds aren't so crowded in and the beach guys are very entertaining, and they work so hard, their bit of beach is beautifully raked over at the end of every day and you'll not see any bits of litter around the place, sunbeds are properly washed off and they're always runnign around offering to get drinks and ice-creams: I can hear Ibrahim shouting now: "sunbeds... cold drinks... ice cream...." aaaaahhhh to be there now!

They even reserved us sunbeds right at the water's edge for the whole fortnight!

It's a bit more sandy down on that part (not so shingly) and there is a sand bank so the sea is quite shallow for a long way out so pretty safe for kids (have been going to Icmeler for several years and wish I'd gone down there before!).

As I said it's the beach right in front of the Yakamoz bar - the board outside will have the names Micheal and Patrick Swayze on it.

Enjoy!

Mazz

Mazz that was interesting I didn't know that. I suppose we've never been to that part of the beach. May try that end next time. Thanks 8)
