Back from icmeler :-(

Postby vicky4675 » 11 Sep 2006 14:51

I absolutley loved it in Icmeler, glad i didn't let what happened with the bombings put me off because it's the best holiday i've ever been on, just got back home a few hours ago and I'm missing it already, I met a really nice Turkish guy over there so I'm quite sad to be back home now. I would deffinately go back...tomorrow if I could!

I stayed in grand soreal (sp) I thought it was lovely, has anyone stayed there before? My favourite places were lighthouse (amazing food) mandelin and troys, i went there every night because that's where the Turkish guy i was with worked, they even let me serve behind the bar, It was great. I've never met a more friendly bunch of people

Wishing I could go back!

Hi Vicky

Great to hear you had such a good time. Sounds like you've been well and truly bitten by the Icmeler bug!

I know how you're feeling I have been back exactly a week and would give anything to jump on the next plane out - and I know it's even harder if you've left someone special out there.... I've been to Icmeler loads of times and every holiday has been fantastic.

I stayed at the Lighthouse apartments - you're right, the food is always excellent there, in my opinion it's the best restaurant in Icmeler - great bunch of guys working there too, I had some right laughs with them!

I have just booked to go back in May and August next year. In August I'll be staying at the Mandalin. What is the food like there? In all the years Iv'e been going I don't think I've ever been in there.

You'll have to get on and book another trip out - now I've sorted my holidays for next year I can honestly say i'm feeling sad rather than depressed about being home.

I'll search our Martin!

Oooh yes I know Tony Macaroni and his magic hat, he's a really funny guy - all the staff there are great. Even the chef used to bring me coffee and perch on my sunbed for a chat when I used the pool late afternoon.

Oooooh to be there now!!!! Happy memories to see me through the long winter!

i couldn't imagine tony macaroni in the champagne bar, seems a bit loud and lively for him, when we went there there was some guys doing full monty! I didn't realise you could stay at the lighthouse, i just thought it was a resturant, that's why i was a bit confused when i saw a pool round the back lol
