Visiting Ovacik from Icmeler

Postby noodles1609 » 17 May 2011 11:38

Hi all

We're flying out Friday for another wonderful week in Icmeler. A friend of ours is flying out the following day, staying in Ovacik and we'd like to meet up. Can anyone recommend the best way to get there, or him to get to us?

Many thanks :D

We thought about doing this last year but didn't get round to it - I'd be interested in finding out how long it would actually take though.

To get to Ovacik from Icmeler is fairly easy, this is how it goes
1 Dolmus from Icmeler to marmaris centre
2 Dolmus from Marmaris centre to Marmaris bus station
3 Coach from Marmaris bus station to Fethiye ( coaches leave every half hour)
4 Dolmus from Fethiye to Ovacik
Total cost when we did this trip about 4 years ago was about £20 a head ( dont think it will be much more now) and the journey from Icmeler to Ovacik will take about 3.5 hours.
I know this seems abit of a convaluted journey but it is so easy, the coaches are air conditioned and they stop a couple of times at service stations to pick up passanges, water is available on board and we even had a lad coming round with lemon balm to freshen up. It's also a good way to see other part during the journey.
I hope you give it a try you will not regret it.

May be worth hiring a car? Should be a lot quicker and you can stop where you want (or not!) on the way?

Thank you :)

My OH doesn't drive and there is no way I'd get behind the wheel, too many ups and downs with long drops too close to the road for me, not to mention the other drivers! Bus & coach sounds a viable option, however, for tanning purposes, I was wondering if there was an equivalent boat journey?
