Micky, Deniz Kapisi nr. Stella show bar offer free sun beds and bar service. Good set of lads as well. Still under refurb and not sure when it is opening though

Quite a lot do - if you walk along the promenade, most have boards up telling you if they do free sunbeds or not. Personally, I like to pay upfront of mine and not feel pressurised in any way to use a particular bar or whatever.

I agree with you Blondie. We like to leave our towels and go for a stroll, or a wee drink and come back. Plus we like to be quite far back and have room. Where the bar linked ones tend to make you feel crammed. Counting the days now 8)

Sunbeds on beach
by mrs k » 14 May 2011 06:11 pm

As we have less than 4 weeks to we are there and cannot wait . This site is amazing. Can I ask if anyone knows the price of the sunbeds on the beach? We do like the beach and we were just wondering as it is 2 years since we have been in Turkey. We like to explore and do trips but like the beach .

Thanksmrs k

I don't think the price has changed for several years = it's usually no more than £1 a day per person, more often than not with free entertainment thrown in Bargain!

A friend of mine was paying £12 per day (for 2 beds and a brolly) in Menorca last year!

we paid 5 lira for two beds and a brolly last year but one chap would try to charge 10 if he thought you were a first timer. they are usually ok though beware of the fruit sellers on the beach they will rip you of every time if your not carefull best buy it in the shops and take it on tobeach with you if you want any.have a good time. mel

i think its unfair to say the fruit sellers 'rip you off'. yes, their fruit is a higher price than the shops, normally a couple of plums, tangerine, banana etc for around 4 or 5 lira but then they are hardly going to sell it for what they brought it for are they?!

Its the same as the corn on the cob sellers or the guy who sells english newspapers.

Please remember these people are trying to make a living for their families in a very short season, if you want cheap fruit then yes, go to the grocers or Tansas....its the same here...do pubs 'rip you off'?...if so then you go to Tesco's for your beer.

just my opinionErik The Viking

a bit harsh to mel there erik but i agree with you.
the thing that annoys me with beds is when people put towels on around the pool then go out all day. how selfish is that!!
i dont think ive ever had any problems getting beds on the beach.mickyq

it wasnt meant to be harsh, but people must think before they post, a few bad words can ruin someones season.

I often find saying 'no thank you' is better than paying silly prices and then moaning about it after. You can always haggle too.

If you read a review of mine from a few years ago you will see that a fruit seller (not on the beach but along the beach road) tried to rip us off. We have been to Icmeler many times and this had never happened before so it was quite shocking and it did make me wary of anyone selling fruit.
I love Icmeler but you can get ripped off anywhere.
This instance is the one and only time I have felt quite sad as i always tell people how honest the turkish people are, my faith was restored though because when we told the turkish people we know what had happened they were quite upset and wanted us to go to the police as this incident damages the reputation of the genuine fruit sellers.
Still love going to icmeler and we are taking my brother and his wife in September can't wait!! :D

if paying 15 lira for a handful of grapes and then trying to short change you is not that bad then go for it eric and that was to acouple in their 80s i saw this last year but stopped it and got this dealer to go away as polite as he deserved. :?

ow wow, if thats the case then its justifies and your receive my humblest apologies, i did see similar years ago where one took money from someone and then made out they didnt understand 'wheres my change'. There are a lot of genuinely good people trying to make a living. I think the advice is, be careful!
