First one was very quiet where we didnt really come out of the hotel much and it was very laid back. We also made a big crowd and therefore didnt need to go far!
Second holiday which I got back from on Monday night was very different. Went out most nights eating at the Set Restaurant, the Lighthouse, the Venice and Taj Mahal to name but a few. Our favourite restaurant by far was the Majestic on the Canal we ate here four times mainly chinese meals and I have to say they were by far the nicest meals we had.
Our exploring soon ended on the day time where we ventured away from the pool on one occasion! It was paradise! Went shopping mainly on a night time hitting the canal and the underground market underneath the Bella Mare. Bought allsorts! Bargains galore and anyone due to go soon-make sure you haggle-they are giving stuff away this year due to the poor season!
Dalaman airport was no problem at all when we arrived straight through with no problems and when we came back a very small queue for checking in. The only problem I would say I had in Dalaman were the escalators-there was loads of them but not many were working? Also of course the prices in the airport for Food and Drinks-we had a kfc when coming back on Monday and for two of us to have a normal chicken burger meal it worked out about £16! Hits you harder when your paying next to nothing in the resort!
The morning of the second holiday was when the press released info about bombings in Marmaris-I have to say we were worried when we seen it on the front of the newspaper in Newcastle Airport, however once we were there we heard nothing about it. The guys in the hotel had said there was massive amounts of people who had cancelled holidays etc because of this and there was really no need.
The resort on a whole we found was quiet and many bars experiencing their worst season in years. We spent alot of time in the Havanna bar where Za Za said how difficult things were shaping up and it is a shame because we wanted to hit every bar just to help the guys out!
All in all we had fantastic holidays and we have two so far booked for next year so its a countdown!
