market-which days & where

hi everybody,
we fly out next saturday
i have noticed that some people have been saying that the market is on sundays as well as wednesdays is this correct?
i am staying at the hotel aqua could somebody pls let me have directions to the market as well?
cant wait for next saturday my first visit to turkey

As far as I'm aware the Market is just on Wednesdays and it is just up the road from the tansas just follow the crowds and you can't miss it enjoy your hols I'm sure you will have a fab time

There was a proposed plan that the market would be on two days - Wednesdays and Sundays but I believe that some shop owners protested (due to the very high rents that they have to pay for the season) and the market will only be open on a Wednesday as usual. Marmaris have their market day on a Thursday.

Find the Tansas supermarket on one of the main roads and then follow the crowd (or ask at restaurants on the way) someone will always point you in the right direction if you get lost.

Also if you fancy change of pace and scenery, try Turunc market on a monday, is was 15lira return on a taxi boat last year. Market, lunch browse the shops and return, don't forget the Turunc cat stall and shop.

hi, directions from hotel aqua to market......if you go on main ICR webb site theres a icmeler map, go on veiwing area 2, were you will see your hotel, the easiest way is come out the front (beach) of you hotel take a left and walk to the canal, take a left at the canal and walk away from the beach, you will come to a main road cross this and keep going straight to the next major road (were it says ustun on map), when there take a right and just keep walking you will see everybody going top the market. this does sound long winded but its the easiest, and shouldnt take you more than 10 mins at a leisurely pace.. hope this helps, enjoy

i hope that there is enough shops in icmeler this year to have a look round
dont want to force people into marmaris and take the business away from the shop keepers in icmeler
