ICMELER v HISARONU

Postby rosie lee » 04 Sep 2006 16:10

hiya

My husband and 2 girls (18, 14) normally go to hisaronu. However, we have just found a great deal going to Kleopatra apartmens in Icmeler, and wondered what people think of them.

Also is Icmeler busy enough for teenage girls. We all love Hisaronu so hoping that this can compare

Hi.

I think your girls will love Icmeler, I recently went to Hisaronu in May and although i enjoyed it and found the atmosphere similar to Icmeler I much preferred Icmeler.
Have a great holiday .

I think you will find that Icmeler has what you'll find in Hisonaru, Ovacik and Olu Deniz, and Marmaris would be like Fetihye - only more of everything and bigger tourist areas.

I love Ovacik but the distance from the beach and Fetihye is always a dolmus ride. Icmeler is in a stunning bay so beach much nearer though it can be busy. The centre of Icmeler is like Hisonaru x 4(or 5 or 6) so there's plenty of bars, restaurants etc to choose from and the popular ones have great atmosphere with a great welcome and a love of families (very like Hisonaru). I've spent time in some Hisonaru bars where there's only about 8 people, not something I've experienced in Icmeler! And the market is in Icmeler as well as Marmaris.

Where Ovacik and Hisonaru are difficult to separate, you'll find Icmeler centre and Icmeler Old Village similar - the only difference is that the old village has a good selection of good, lively bars/restaurants.

Hope you have a great time.

Yes Icmeler is lovely, and don't forget the canal. It is so pretty at night with all the little stalls and shops, restaurants and the little bridges lit up. You can't go wrong, and if you know a little Turkish as well, they love it when you say of an evening"Iy Ak Sham Larr" Oh they wont forget and when you go passed again, witll speak to you in Turkish. Give it a try.

ICMELER ICMELER ICMELER!!!

I have been going to Icmeler for the last 8 years and this year decided to try somewhere new. We stayed just outside Hisaranou and although it was a lovely place and we really enjoyed our holiday, its not a patch on Icmeler. You have everything you need and want on your doorstep in icmeler. No hassle getting a dolmus to go to the beach in another resort!!
