Kurt Apartments

Postby subz » 31 Aug 2006 19:42

Hi everyone

Got back from Icmeler on Saturday 26th August. On a real downer now what with all the rain we are having as well.

Had a great fortnight - except for our stay at Kurt. The apts were great once we had been moved to one with a decent view and balcony but the family seemed to hassle us to no end!

We ended up having to use 'the escape route' which was a path along the front of the apartments which led to some steps going straight out of the apartments.

It seems from speaking to other guests and they have all been hassled by this family who although are very pleasant, want you to spend all your holiday with them - doing trips organised by them, visiting shops of relatives, boat trips with them... the list goes on.

Anyone else had the same experience this year????

Hi Subz, we were supposed to go to these apartments in July, with travel company Kosmar, but 8 weeks before we went, our travel agent informed us that excell flights (who Kosmar used) were not flying from glasgow this summer, no reason given! We had to hastily arrange another holiday with another company to Icmeler and couldn't go to these apartments. As we had been at the Kurt last year we really wanted to go back (no hassle last year), so when we went to Icmeler, we went to visit the Kurt. The apartments were empty as all the customers they were supposed to get had cancelled with Kosmar, so Kosmar really let this family down. I know of several families who go at the same time every year and couldn't as Kosmar was the only company you could book these apartments with (except Icmeleronline). So I think that maybe this year the family was desperate for customers to stay and spend money in the apartments as they (as well as most shop, bars and hotels) have had a very poor season this year. I know this doesn't make it any better, but I hope that this is the explanation for their behaviour as we are going back next year (through Icmeleronline) and hope that everything is back to normal.

Thanks for that. I think your explanation has cleared up a lot of misgivings about this place. As I said, it was a great apartment but not a good first time experience. A few of the guests that were there said they had stayed here on more than one occasion - one couple have been coming for the last 18 years!

I do agree that they have all had a bad season this year. I think that is why there was a lot more hassle than last year.

I hope it was an exception because it is a shame for such nice accommodation to be tarnished with a bad reputation.

Maybe I will look out for more reports before I consider booking it again - just in case.
