Good morning. Yes, we have been to Rhodes. It is a very pretty little place...all little cobbled streets and alley leading off everywhere. Loads of places to eat and drink and interesting things to see. Beware...when we went 5 years ago, they only took Euro's. They didn't take English or Turkish Lira, which was very frustrating for us as we only had Lira. Maybe worth paying for a taxi to take you on the site seeing tour of the island.

icmelersun. yes we did that trip a few years back, set off about six o,clock to early for hotel breakfast ,onto the coach then picked up people ,then to marmaris docks que at customs visa etc. then on to katarmaran, nothing on the boat to eat,it was alittle more choppy than we expected towards the end of the turkish mainland, the journey took longer than we were told it would when we booked, it is a lovely place the harbour and town, plenty of places to have breakfast,we were very hungry when got there, food was more expensive than icmeler.the women shopped and shopped, the men walked around till midday, then gave up ,we sampled a few litre of becks beer, got our cheap spirit, met the women on the harbour beach, qued again to leave rhodes, back on the ship,it conked out half way back, flopped about like a cork for half an hour, limped back to marmaris it took nearly 3 hrs to get back. not a good day ,a lot of people not well, back through customs, then onto coach to drop off on the way back to icmeler.KEEP YOUR SPIRIT RECEITS if you bring it back to UK. iwould never do it again for what i ,ve told you ,but hundreds do and enjoy the day ,abit trashing,a holiday there is the answer i think. Hi Bill. Our trip wasn't all that enjoyable either, although it was an experience. The town was beautiful. The only thing that spoil the walk around town was the beggar women with there babies sat on pavements...different women each time but same baby! As I said in my post, we only had Turkish Lira and GBP and they wouldn't accept that. We did find one place to eat that took GBP, but then we got ripped off for 2 fresh orange juices in the main square...almost £9! Hubby was totally p'd off with this, so we went back to the harbour and sat around there for 2 hours waiting for the katarmaran to take us back to Marmaris. On the way back we hit a terrific thunder storm which for me was a nightmare as I hate thunder. Will not go back again.

If you book with a trip company, they will pick you up from your hotel/appartment at about 7.30am for the 9 o'clockish katermaran, returning back in Marmaris about 5.30pm. You get about 5 or 6 hours in Rhodes. Hope this helps

went twice last year :)
nice little place but much more expensive than turkey as it is in the euro
the guy on the boat offers you a trip which takes you round the old and new town and still gives you time to wander round
hope you have an amazing time
