Earthquake felt ın İcmeler

Postby shaz20 » 08 Aug 2010 00:55

At 3.24 this mornıng my daughter and İ were sittıng on our ground floor balcony, when suddenly the ground underneath us rumbled and shook. We both got such a shock we couldn,t believe we had felt an earthquake, but the staff on duty confirmed that it was. Apparently it was many mıles from here, my daughter checked onlıne. BOZBURUN ACIKLARI-MUGLA (AKDENIZ) İt woke my husband up but he didnt know what ıt was only that somethıng had woke him :?: İt was excitıng but also a lıttle scary. Oh well wonder if its too soon to put out towels on the sunbeds

Thankyou for confirming that Shaz20, I thought I'd had too many brandy and cokes that night as nobody else had felt it in our party. :D

The vodka at our apartments must be strong, because we were still at the bar that morning and Phill and I never felt a thing, we didnt even know anything about it until the following morning when we were told!

Didn't wake me! Woke my wife though. she said she felt the bed shaking and got a bit worried. :D :D :D

Loads of people were talking about it around the pool the next day . I heard it was 25 miles away. Which is pretty close for an earthquake.

We also experienced the quake whilst in Icmeler last week. It woke us from sleep to the sound of the mirror shaking on the wall. There was apparently a smaller one at one o'clock and another smaller one at five o'clock (probably a light after-shock) When we told our Turkish friends during the morning, the comment we got was "Oh yes its the first we've had this season, nothing to worry about". They just took it in their stride and did not think anything of it. Cool dudes!!!!!!
