Hi

My husband, son and I stayed at the Babadan apartments in 2006. It was our first time in Turkey too and we had a fabulous time. The apartments are clean and the staff were very helpful. When we arrived we were allocated a ground floor room overlooking the pool, my hubby didn't want to be so close to the action so we asked if we could be on a higher floor - no problem whatever they happily moved us.

There seemed to be lots going on for younger kids - our lad was 17 so wouldn't be persuaded to join in unfortunately :) There were two pools, the one at the front near the bar seemed to be busiest as this was then where the childrens pool was so we tended to use the one around the side as this was much quieter.

We stayed in July and there were always plenty of sun loungers and parasols - no problems and the people who were there at the same time as us were all friendly, many of them had stayed there before. If it has maintained the standards it had then I am sure you will have a fab time.

We are off to Icmeler on 10th September for two weeks just me and hubby this time and have booked the Kapmar Hotel which is new to us.

Regards

Sharon

No but to be honest we tend to take earplugs whenever we go away - we did hear the cockerill but he doesn't seem to have any idea of the time and crowed now and then whenever it suited him really. We had a great holiday and you will find that the Turkish people are very friendly and eager to help you. I can recommend the boat trips as a great way of cooling off and getting out and about. They are really good value and usually include lunch and drinks and if you are not a confident swimmer they usually have floats so that you can still enjoy the water.

It was our first time in turkey and we were not disappointed.

We have stayed here a number of times, although the last time was several years ago but we always call in for a drink when passing and things don't seem to have changed that much. Sure you will have a brill time, especially your six year old, Babadan has always been really popular with families. There are a great bunch of guys working there, some have been there years and it's always great to see them. Any problems and Julia is always around to help you, you need have no worries, just enjoy !!!

A couple of our friends stated there 2 years ago and spoke really highly of them, it was a toss of a coin if we were going to stay there or the Kapmar this year and the Kapmar won, maybe next year then :)

We spent 2 weeks here at the beginning of June, brillant apartments, very clean and kitchens etc well equiped, staff very nice certainly don't pester you to eat at the apartments, though the food is excellent and very good value. Great location very handy to the centre and not far from lots of good resturants.
I am sure you will have a great time, we certainly did.

We just got back last night from a 2 week stay at the Babadan Apartments. Overall, we had a great time and we are almost certain to stay there next year. A couple of points:

The Apartment:
As others have testified, the appartments are clean, seem to be well enough maintained and overall, we were very happy with it. When we first arrived though we were allocated an appartment on the top floor almost above the restaurant's kitchen. With the air conditioning (£4/day) switched on in the main bedroom, the second room where our 14 year old daughter slept was always too hot. This was partly due to hot water pipes running behind a locked wooden panel in the bathroom. A second reason was that the room faced south east, getting the sun from sunrise until late afternoon. Because of this we kept the curtains closed until we our return in the evening.

After discussing the problems with the Angie (the rep) we were allocated another appartment after the 3rd night and everything was fine.

Jeep Safari:
We were thinking of going on the Safari until we bumped into a family who had been on it. They couldn't recommend it highly enough but what put us off was one of their final comments: they let their young (6 or 7 year olds) swear for the day because during the water fights everyone was calling everyone else a "b*st*rd". I couldn't be certain that their story was true but we decided to give it a miss anyway.

I'm sure you'll enjoy Icmeler and Babadan Apts. Have a good time.
